Lesson 83 Amplified -- TELOS

 TELOS

American singular: the point aimed at, the end of this age

This Koine Greek word concerns the goal of Theos’ working with the existent cosmos.

Almost Greek: (Words in italics are translator’s additions)

1st Thessalonians 2.14: You also suffered via your fellow countrymen as they also did via the Judaeans, those killing both the Kurios Jesus and their own prophetai [before tellers, prophets]; also driving us out. They not please Theos. They are antagonistic to all men, preventing us from speaking to the ethnoi [nations, races, non-Jews, gentiles] in order that [lest] they might sothosin [be made safe, be saved]. At all times fulfilling their hamartia [a miss of the mark or goal; error, offence; sin], upon them has come the orge [violent passion, fury, rage, wrath] of Theos to the telos.

1st Corinthians 1.4: I always eucharisto [gratefully give thanks] to my Theos (concerning you) for the chariti [graciousness] of Theos given to you in Jesus, the Christo [Anointed One, Mashiyach, Messiah, Christ], that in everything you were made wealthy in Him; in every logos [word] and all knowledge, even as the testimony of the Christou was stabilized in you. Also, since you have been awaiting the appearance of our Kuriou Jesus, the Christou, you aren’t lacking in any charismati [gifts, endowments, faculties, deliverances]. He [Theos] also will stabilize you until telos, blameless in the day of our Kuriou Jesus, the Christou. Pistos [trustworthy, faithful] is Theos via Whom you were called into koinonian [sharing, partnership] with His Son, our Kuriou Jesus, the Christou.

1st Corinthians 15.20: But now, the Christos has been awakened from dead. He was caused to be a beginning of sacrifice [the “first fruits”] of those having been put to sleep for since death is via a man [Adam] and via a Man [Jesus] anastasis [a standing up again, resurrection] of the dead. For as in Adam the whole human race dies, so also, in the Christo all will be made alive but each in his own order [turn]. First the beginning of the sacrifice (the Christos), then comes the telos, when He surrenders the kingdom to Theos (also the Father); when He [Jesus] katargese [renders entirely idle; useless] all commencement [rank], all privilege [authority] and all dunamin [force, power]. It is right for Him to reign until He [Father] wishes to place all the hateful under His [Jesus’] feet. The last hateful one katargeitai [rendered entirely idle; useless] is Death for He [Father] subordinated all under His [Jesus’] feet.

Romans 6.15: Accordingly, what? shall we hamartano because we aren’t under law; conversely under charis? Let it not be caused to be! Not know you that to whom you present yourselves as slaves to obedience (you are slaves to whom you obey), either (in fact) slaves of hamartia toward death or slaves to Father God obedient toward dikaiosune [equity, justification, rightness]? But charis [gratitude] to Theos that although you were slaves to hamartia, you obeyed emergent from the heart that type of teaching to which you were surrendered and having been freed off hamartia, you were enslaved to dikaiosune. I speak as a man due to the feebleness of your flesh, for just as you presented your members as slaves to impurity and lawlessness toward lawlessness, in this way now you present your members as slaves to dikaiosune toward hagiasmos [holiness, purity]. Because you were slave of hamartia, you were free to dikaiosune. Accordingly, what fruit had you (at that time) over which now you feel ashamed? for the telos of those fruits is death. But now having been freed off hamartia (having been enslaved to Theos), you have your fruit toward hagiasmos and the telos; eternal life. For the wages of hamartia is death but the free charisma of Theos is eternal life in our kurios Jesus the Christos.

Luke 21.7: “Teacher! (accordingly) when will these occurrences be and what will be the sign attending whenever these occurrences are caused to be?” And He said, “Watch out! lest you be caused to stray, for many will come on [in] My name, saying, ‘I AM’ and ‘the time has arrived.’ Accordingly, not go after [follow behind] them. Now when you hear of warfare and disturbances, not be frightened. It is necessary for these disturbances to be caused to be first; conversely, not directly comes the telos.”

Matthew 24.3 Now, He sitting down upon the Mount of Olives, we mathetai approached Him down to Himself, saying, “Tell us at what time these events will be and what will be the semeion of Your being near and of the entire completion of the age?” And responding, Jesus said to us, “Watch out that not any of you causes anyone to go astray. For many will come upon My name, saying, ‘I AM the Christos.’ And many will cause others to go astray. But you are about to hear of warfare and rumors of warfare. Don’t be upset! For it is necessary for all of this to be (caused to be); conversely, it not yet is the telos. For ethnos will be roused upon [against] ethnos and kingdom upon kingdom and there will be famine and plagues and commotion [gales and earthquakes] down in various places but all these occurrences are merely the beginning pangs [birth contractions]. Then is when they will surrender you to torture and will kill you and you will be misoumenoi [detested] by all the ethnon via My name. And then is when many skandalisthesontai [will be tripped, will be entrapped, will be scandalized] and paradosousi [will surrender] one another and they misesousin [will detest] one another. And many pseudoprophetai will be aroused and will cause many to go astray. And via abounding lawlessness, the agape of many will chill but the person enduring to the telos, the same sothesetai [will be made safe, will be saved]. And this euaggelion [good news, gospel, evangel] of the Kingdom keruchthesetai [will be proclaimed, will be heralded] in the whole of the earth to evidence to all the ethnesi and then is when the telos will arrive.”

Lesson 82 Amplified -- STERIZO

 STERIZO

American: to securely set, to make one steadfast

STERIGMOS

American: stability, steadfastness

STEKO

American: to be stationary, to be securely set

These Koine Greek words are about our constantly, consistently keeping our faith.

Almost Greek: (Words in italics are translator’s additions)

1st Thessalonians 3: So no longer able to endure, I agreed to be left alone in Athens, Achaia. I sent our brother and diakonos [waiter, attendant, servant, deacon] of Theos and my fellow worker in the euaggelion [good news, gospel, evangel] of the Christos [Anointed One, Messiah, Mashiyach, Christ], Timothy, sterixai and parakalesai [to call near, to invite, to urge, to exhort, to encourage] you concerning your pistis. Not even one of you is to vacillate in [because of] my stress, for you (yourselves) know that I was destined for this.

2nd Thessalonians 2.16: May our Kurios Jesus, the Christos (Himself) and our Theos and Father (the One agapesas [unconditionally loving] us and giving perpetual paraklesin [imploration, urging, exhortation, encouragement, solace] and a good elpis [expectation, hope] in charis [graciousness]) encourage your hearts and sterizo yourselves in every logos and good work. For the rest, brothers, proseuchomai [humbly beg God, pray] concerning me that the logos of the Kurios will briskly move and be rendered glorious as indeed it is with you and in order that I may be rescued from perverse and poneron [hurtful] men for the pistis isn’t in the whole of humanity. But the Kurios is worthy of pistis, Who sterizo you and isolates [guards] you from the ponerou [hurtful] one. I am convinced (in the Kurios) as to you that whatever I command you, you both do and will do. May the Kurios guide your hearts into the agape of Theos and into the cheerful constancy of the Christos.

Romans 16.25: Now, to the One capable of sterichan [securely setting, making one steadfast], down to my euaggelion and the kerugma [proclamation] of Jesus, the Christou, down to the revelation of the musteriou [secrets, mysteries], having been kept secret for eternal past ages but now revealed via prophetikon [prophetic] writings, made known down to the command of the eternal Theos, to obedience of pisteos to all the ethne [nations, races, non-Jews, gentiles], the sole wise Theos; to Whom (via Jesus, the Christou) be glory to the ages. Amen!

Luke 22.31: “Simon! Simon! Lo! Satanas has demanded you (to sift you as grain) but I edeethen [begged, petitioned, beseeched, prayed] concerning you in order that your pistis might not vanish and you (at some time) having reverted, sterizon your brothers.”

James 5.7: Then be makrothumeo [forbearing, patiently restraining], brothers, until the return of the Kuriou. Lo! the farmer awaits the precious fruit of the earth, being makrothumon over it until it might receive the early and the later ueton [rain]. You also be makrothumesate! Sterizate your hearts because the return of the Kuriou has drawn near. Not bring pressure [stress] down against one another, brothers, in order that you not katakrithete [are distinguished, are judged, are put on trial]. Lo! the krites [judge] stands in front of the door. As an example of suffering hardship and of makrothunias, my brothers, take the prophetas [before tellers, prophets] who spoke in the name [authority] of the Kuriou. Lo! we pronounce those enduring, fortunate. You heard of the hupomonen [cheerful endurance, constancy] of Job and you know the Kuriou’s telos [end] for him; that the Kurios is extremely compassionate and merciful.

Lesson 81 Amplified -- SPLEN

 SPLEN

American: spleen, guts, bowels, pity, sympathy; inward affection + tender mercy

Hebrew Aramaic: racham

Webster’s New World Dictionary of the American Language defines spleen as a ductless organ in the human body and was formerly regarded as the seat of certain emotions: malice, spite, bad temper; also [archaic] melancholy, low spirits. These are certainly negative feelings. In the New Blood Covenant the feelings are generally positive.

Almost Greek: (Words in italics are translator’s additions)

2nd Corinthians 6.11 Our [My] mouth is opened up [has spoken] to you, O Corinthians! Our [My] heart has been opened wide. You aren’t hemmed in, in us [me]. You are hemmed in but in your splen. But for the same recompense [in similar exchange], as to children I speak, you also are opened wide!

2nd Corinthians 7.13: Via this reason I more superabundantly parakeklemetha [have been encouraged] over your paraklesei [invitation, encouragement] and even more, I rejoice over the joy of Titus, because he has been rested [refreshed] off all of you, that if I have boasted anything over you all to him, I wasn't shamed down. As we [I] spoke the whole truth to you, so also our [my] boasting over Titus was caused to be the truth. Titus’ splen is toward you more superabundantly, he remembering the attentive listening obedience of you all as you received him with fear and trembling. I then rejoice that in all I exercise courage [have confidence] in you.

Colossians 3.12: Accordingly, dress yourself in the manner of the chosen of Theos: hagioi [holy , sacred, consecrated ones] and egapemenoi [unconditionally loved], splen of pity, chrestoteta [usefulness], humility, gentleness, forbearance; enduring one another and forgiving yourselves. In case anyone (toward any) has a complaint, just as (in fact) the Christos forgave you, so also should you.

Philemon 7: For we have much joy and solace over your agape, brother, that the splen of the hagion have been rested [refreshed] via you. Therefore, having much directness [boldness] in the Christo to order [command] you to do the proper thing because of agapen, I rather parakalo [call near, invite, urge, exhort, encourage] you to do it. Being of this sort (just now an old man and a captive of Jesus, the Christou), I, Paul, parakalo you concerning my child Onesimus [“Profitable”], the one at one time achrelos [useless] to you but now euchreston [useful] to you, and to me, whom I procreated in my bonds. I have sent him back to you in person; that is sending my very splen. Receive him! whom I wished to keep with me in order that he might serve me for you [in your place] in my bonds [imprisonment] for the euaggelion [good news, gospel, evangel]. But I eboulomen [resolved, willed, intended] not to do even one thing apart from your consent in order that your good deed wouldn’t be down to constraint [necessity] but down to voluntariness. For perhaps via this, he was separated from you for an hour in order that you might totally and perpetually receive him; no longer as a slave but above and beyond a slave, as an agapeton brother (especially to me and how much more to you), both in the flesh and in the Kurio. If then you hold me as a koinonon [sharer, partner], receive him as you would receive me. If he was unjust to you in anything or owes you, reckon [charge] it to my account. I, “Paul”, wrote with my hand. I will repay you in full in order that I not say to you that (in fact) you owe your now-saved self to me. Yes, brother, may I be gratified of [by] you in the Kurio? Do rest [refresh] my splen in the Kurio.

Philippians 1.8: For Theos is my witness of how I yearn for you all in the splen of Jesus, the Christou. And this I proseuchomai [humbly beg God, pray] in order that your agape [unconditional love] yet more and more superabound in discernment and in all perception to your bearing through testing in order that you be proven sincere and inoffensive to the day of the Christou. You having been made replete [complete] with fruits of dikaiosunes [equity, justification, rightness] via Jesus, the Christou, to the glory and the praise of Theos.

Philippians 2: Accordingly, if there is any paraklesis in the Christo, if any consolation of agapes, if any koinonia of the Hagios Pneuma, if any splen and pity, make my joy complete in order that you think the same [are of one mind]: having the same agapen, sumpsuchoi [one in psuche], one in thinking [opinion].

Luke 1.76: “And you, child, will be called a prophetes [before-teller, prophet] of the Highest for you will proporeuoe [proceed as a herald] in front of the face of the Kuriou to prepare His road, to give a knowledge of soterias [rescue, safety, salvation] to His people in freedom of [from] their hamartion [misses of the mark or goal; errors, offences, sins] via the splen of compassion of our Theos in which He will visit us (the Dawn emergent from above to shine upon those in shadiness and in the shade [shadow] of death), sitting down as a ruler to fully straighten [direct] our feet into a road of peace.”

Luke 7.11: And it was caused to be in the next day, that He traveled into a city called Nain [“Pleasantness”], Galilee and an ample number of His mathetai [learners, pupils, disciples] and a great crowd journeyed with Him. Now, as He approached the gate of the city, Lo! the onlyborn son of his mother (and she was a widow) having died, his body was being borne forth for burial. And the populace of the city appropriately was with her. And the Kurios had His splen yearn over her and said to her, “Not sob!”

And approaching, He touched the bier. Now, those bearing the bier stood still. And He said, “Youth! to you I say, eleken [arise]!” And the formerly dead one sat up and began to speak and He gave him back to his mother.

Mark 1.40: And comes to Him a scaly [leper], imploring Him and falling on his knees to Him and saying to Him, “Provided that You thelos [determine, choose, decide, decree], You have the dunasai [force, power] to cleanse me.” And Jesus (having yearning in His splen) extending His hand, He touched him and says to him, “I theLO! Be clean!”

And He having spoken, directly the scaliness [leprosy] went off from him and he was cleansed.

Matthew 14.13: Now hearing [having heard of the death of John bar Zacharias], Jesus withdrew from there (in a sailboat) to His own isolated place. And having heard, the throngs followed Him from the cities on foot. And issuing forth, Jesus saw the huge throng and His splen yearned upon them and He healed their infirm.

Lesson 80 Amplified -- SPERMA

 SPERMA – SPERMAI

American singular: descendant, seed, sperm -- plural: descendants

Hebrew Aramaic singular: zera

Although this Koine Greek word also means seed and sperm, our focus here is upon descendants.

Almost Greek: (Words in italics are translator’s additions)

Galatians 3.15: Brothers! down to man I say, not even one man sets aside or adds to even a covenant being ratified by man. Now, to Abraham were spoken the epaggelian [announcements, proclamations, promises] and to his “Sperma”. It not says, “and to the spermai,” as to many, but merely as over One: “… and to your Sperma,” (Who is the Christos [Anointed One, Messiah, Christ]).

GENESIS 13.15: [YHWH speaking] “I will make your zera as the dust of the earth.”

GENESIS 22.18: [YHWH speaking] “… surely, I will multiply your zera as the stars of the skies and the sand which is on the lip of the sea. Your Zera [Jesus, the Christ] shall own the gate of His enemies. All the gowy [ethnoi: nations, races, non-Jews, gentiles] of the earth shall be blest in your Zera …”

[Galatians 3 continued]: This I say, a covenant previously ratified under Theos into the Christou isn’t annulled by The Law (coming into being 430 years later), as to abolish the epaggelian. For if the inheritance is emergent from The Law, no longer is it emergent from epaggelian. But Theos has given it to Abraham via epaggelias. Why then exists The Law? It was added because of the parabasis [going contrary to, violating], being instituted via aggeloi [messengers, angels], resting in a go-between’s hand until the Sperma should come, upon Whom the epaggelian epeggeltai [was announced, was proclaimed, was promised]. Now, the go-between [Moses] isn’t first but Theos is First. Is then The Law against the epaggelian of Theos? Let it not be caused to be! For if a law had been given that was able to make alive, indeed dikaiosune [equity, justification, rightness] would have been emergent from that law. Conversely, now the Graphe [Scripture, part of Old Testament] has subjected everyone under hamartian [misses of the mark or goal; errors, offenses, sins] in order that the epagglia emergent from pistis might be given to those having pistis in Jesus, the Christou. Before the coming of pistin, we were being guarded under The Law; having been made subject to the pistin being about to be revealed. So also, The Law has been caused to be our trainer into the Christon in order that we dikaiothomen [might be justified] emergent from pisteos. Now, pisteos having come [arrived], we are no longer under a trainer. For you are all sons of Theos via pistis in Jesus, the Christo. For as many of you as were ebaptisthete [immersed, submerged, baptized] into the Christon, you put on the Christos. There aren’t in you Jews nor Greeks; there isn’t in you slave nor freeman [citizen]; there isn’t in you male nor female; for you are all one in the Christo Jesus. Now, if you are of the Christou, then you are spermai of Abraham; even heirs down to epaggelian.

Romans 4.13: For not via law came the epaggelia to Abraham nor to his Spermati, He to be inheritor of the kosmou; conversely, it came via dikaiosunes of pisteos. For if those emergent from law are heirs, pistis has been nullified and the epaggelia kekenotai [rendered empty]. For The Law works out the completion of orgen [violent passion, fury, rage, wrath] but where The Law isn’t [doesn’t exist], neither is there violation. Because of this, it is of pisteos and that down to charin [graciousness], to set [confirm] the epaggelian to the whole population of the spermati (not only to the sperma of The Law), conversely, also to that of the pisteos of Abraham, who is the father of us all. Even as it has been written, “As father of many ethnon, I have placed you.”

GENESIS 17.4: Elohiym spoke with Abram saying, “I AM! Lo! My blood covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of a crowd of gowy [ethnoi].”

[Romans continued] And this was before Theos, in Whom he episteuse [had faith], the One making alive the dead and calling the things not being into being. Near elpida [expectation, hope] upon elpidi, he episteusen [had faith] toward his being caused to be a father of many ethnon down to what was said, “So, shall your sperma be.”

GENESIS 22.16: “By Myself have I sworn,” groans YHWH, “because you have obeyed My dabar [logos: word] and haven’t spared your son (your one and only son), I will bless you and bless you. I will increase and increase your zera as the stars of the heavens and as the sand that is on the lip of the sea. Your zera shall own the gates of their adversaries. In your Zera all the gowy of the earth shall be blest, because you have listened to and obeyed My voice.”

Romans 9.6: Not imagine that the Logos of Theos has failed for not all those emergent from Israel are Israel, neither are they all children of Abraham because they are sperma of Abraham. Conversely, “In Isaac a Sperma will be called to you.”

GENESIS 21.12: [YHWH speaking] “in Jitschak [Isaac] your Zera shall be called out to.”

Acts 3.24: Now, also all the prophetai [before tellers, prophets] (consecutively from Samuel and those thereafter, as many as spoke) prokateggeilan [before promulgating, before publishing, before officially making known] these days. You are sons of the propheton and of the first blood covenant [Old Testament] which Theos set aside by bequest of our forefathers, saying to Abraham, ‘Also in your Sperma shall all the patria [groups of families or whole races] of the earth be blest.’”

GENESIS 22.18: [YHWH speaking] “In your Zera shall all the gowy of the earth be blest.”

2nd Timothy 2.7: Consider what I say for the Kurios will give you understanding in everything. Remember Jesus the Christos, having been awakened emergent from dead, emergent from the sperma of David down to my euangelion [good news, gospel, evangel] in which I undergo hardship (as far as shackles) as a wrongdoer [criminal] but the Logos of Theos hasn’t been bound.

Lesson 79 Amplified -- RHABBI

 RHABBI

American: My Master, Rabbi

Chaldee: My Lord, My Master, Chief, Captain

In Koine Greek this title is written Rhabbi; in Hebrew Aramaic, Rabbi. This is an official title of honor of Hebrew origin. Webster’s New World Dictionary of the American Language defines it: My master, my lord; an ordained teacher of the Jewish law, authorized to decide questions of law and ritual and to perform marriages, et cetera. Now (usually) the spiritual head of a congregation. The term is also used in respectful address.

Almost Greek: [Words in italics are translator’s additions.]

Luke 5.17: And it was caused to be (in one of those days) He was also teaching. And there were sitting down Pharisees and expounders of Jewish Law [Rhabbis] who were coming emergent from every hamlet of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem. And the dunamis of the Kurios was into the curing of them [the infirm].

Acts 5.33: Now, those hearing were cut in half [“cut to the quick”] and resolved to do away with them. But someone stood up in the Sanhedrin; a Pharisee by the name of Gamaliel, a Rabbi esteemed by all the people. He urged that they put the apostolous outside for a short while. Then, he said to them, “Men! Israelites! be careful upon what you are about to do to these men for (before these days) Theudas stood up (claiming himself to be someone) to whom a number of men (about four hundred) were joined, who was taken away [executed] and all (as many as were submitting to his authority) were dispersed [scattered] and were caused to be not even one thing. After this stood up Judas [in Greek, in Hebrew: “Judah”, “Praise”] the Galilean (in the days of the registration) and he drew away many people behind him. Likewise, that one perished and all (as many as were submitting to his authority) were dispersed. And at present I say to you, draw away from these men and let them be because in case that this determination (or this work) is emergent from men, it will be dissolved down but if it is emergent from Theos, you won’t be able to dissolve it down and perhaps you even are found to be anti-God.”

Mark 9.2: And after six days, Jesus takes (with Him) Rock and James and John Bar Zebedee and takes them up into a lofty peak, solely down to Himself. And He was metemorphothe [metamorphosed, transformed] in front of them. And His garments were caused to be exceedingly gleaming, white as snow (such that as a launderer on the earth is unable to whiten) and were gazed upon by them with wide open eyes, Elijah together with Moses. And they were conversing with Jesus. And beginning to speak, Rock says to Jesus, “Rabbi! it is kalon [beautiful, virtuous] for us to be here. And let us make three skene [tents, really bowers]; one for You and one for Moses and one for Elijah.” For he not knew what to say for they were frightened out of their wits. And there was caused to be a cloud overshadowing them and there came a phone emergent from the cloud, saying, “This is My Son, the Agapetos! Hear [heed] Him!”

Mark 10.46: And they come into Jericho [“Place of Fragrance”], Judea. And He and the matheton [learners, pupils, disciples] and a sizeable throng departing from Jericho, the blind son of Timaeus (bar Timaeus) sat down near the road soliciting alms. And having heard that it is Jesus the Nazarene, he began kraxein [to caw as a raven, to shriek, to scream, to cry out] and to say, “Jesus! Son of David! eleeson [show deep sympathy, show mercy] to me!” And many admonished him in order that he be silent but he much more ekrazen, “Son of David! eleeson to me!” And standing [stopping], Jesus said for him phonethenai [to be called to] Him. And they phonousi [called] the blind one, saying to him, “Have courage! Arise! He phonei [calls for] you.” Now, throwing off his outer garment, standing up, he came to Jesus. And beginning to speak, Jesus says to him, “What do you want Me to do for you?” And the blind one said to Him, “Rabbi! I ask in order that I may recover my sight.” Now, Jesus says to him, “Go! your pistis sesoke [has made safe, has saved] you.” And he directly recovered his sight and accompanied Jesus on the road.

Mark 11.20: And at dawn (travelling near) they saw the fig tree withered emergent from the roots and remembering, Rock says to Him, “Rabbi! Lo! the fig tree which You cursed has withered.”

Mark 14.43: And directly (He still speaking) Judas approaches (being one of the twelve) and with him a large throng with knives and sticks from beside the chief priests and the grammateis and the elders. And the one surrendering Him had given them a contrived sign, saying, “Whomever I kiss. It is He. Seize Him and securely take Him away.” And coming (directly approaching Him), he says, “Rabbi! Rabbi!”

Matthew 23: Then is when Jesus spoke to the throngs and to us mathetai, saying, “Upon the seat of Moses sat [as appointed successors] the grammateis [writers, recorders, scribes, secretaries] and the Pharisees. Accordingly, do all (whatever) they tell you to keep [observe] and do, but don’t do down to their works for they say and [but] not do. For they are binders of weighty freight bills [burdens] and impose them upon the shoulders of men but not thelo [choose, decide] to stir [move] even their finger but do all their works toward being seen by men. They widen their phulakteria [“guard-cases” or defenses or protections: These were square leather cases containing strips of parchment upon which were written four texts: Exodus 13.1-10 & 16, Deuteronomy 6.4-9 & 11.18-21. The cases had the Hebrew letters shin, daleth and yod (on one side) which signify “Almighty YHWH”. The case was fastened by straps to the forehead; just between the eyes.] They widen the hems of their garments. They phile [love] both the first couch in the dinners and the first seats in the synagogues and the greetings in the marketplaces and to be called by men, ‘Rabbi! Rabbi!’ But you aren’t to be called ‘Rabbi’ for One is your Rabbi (the Christos) and you are all brothers. And not call one of you upon the earth ‘Father’ for One is your Father, the One in the Ouranoi. Neither be called ‘Guide for One is your Guide, the Christos. But the greater of you shall be your servant but whoever will elevate himself shall be depressed and whoever will depress himself will be elevated.”

Matthew 26.20: And it being caused to be late, He reclined at table amidst us twelve. And while we were eating, He said, “Amen! I say to you, that one emergent from you will surrender Me.” And being exceedingly grieved, we (each of us) began to say, “Not I am he if not [am I], Kurie? But responding, He said, “He, wetting bread with Me in the bowl with his hand, the same will surrender Me. In fact, the Son of Man withdraws, just as it has been written concerning Him but woe to that one man via whom the Son of Man is surrendered. It were kalon for him if that one man wasn’t born.” Now, responding, Judas the Iscariot (who was surrendering Him) said, “Not I am he if not, Rabbi?” He says to him, “You said it!”

John 3: There was a man (emergent from the Pharisees) named Nicodemus [“The People is Victor”], who was a chief of the Jews [member of the Sanhedrin]. He came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi! we know that You have come from Theos as a Teacher for not even one man can do these semeia [signs, indications] (which You do) unless Theos is with Him.” Jesus answered him, “Amen! Amen! I say to you, if one doesn’t receive birth from above, he is unable to perceive the Kingdom of Theos.” Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot reenter into his mother’s womb and be born a second time.” Jesus answered, “Amen! Amen! I say to you, if one doesn’t receive birth both emergent from water [physically] and from the Hagios Pneuma [spiritually], he isn’t able to enter into the Kingdom of Theos. That receiving birth from flesh is flesh; that receiving birth from the Hagios Pneuma is pneuma [spirit]. Don’t marvel because I told you, ‘You must receive birth from above.’ The Hagios Pneuma breathes where He thelei [determines, chooses, decides, decrees] and although you hear His phone [sound, tone, noise, voice], you neither know from where He comes nor where He goes. So, it is with everyone who has received birth emergent from the Hagios Pneuma.”

John 3.25: A controversy arose emergent from some of John’s mathetai and the Judaeans about purification. So, they came to John and reported, “Rabbi! the One Who was with you beyond the Jordan River and to Whom you (yourself) gave testimony, Lo! He also is baptizo [the apostles were doing the baptizing] and everyone is flocking to Him!” John answered, “A man cannot receive even one thing unless it has been given to him emergent from Ouranos. You (yourselves) are my witnesses that I said, ‘I am not the Christos but having been sent before that One as His forerunner.’”

John 6.22: The next day, the throng was still standing on the other side of the Sea. They had seen only one small sailboat [ours] leave there and that Jesus hadn’t gone into it with us and that we (ourselves) had left in it. But some other small sailboats (emergent from Tiberias) came in near the place where they ate the loaves (the Kurios eucharisteo [having expressed gratitude, having given thanks]). So, the throng (seeing that neither Jesus nor us mathetai were there) also entered the sailboats (themselves) and came to Capernaum seeking Jesus. Having found Him (across the Sea), they said to Him, Rabbi! when did You come here?”

John 8.2: At dawn, He came back into the Temple enclosure and all the people crowded around Him. Sitting, He taught them. Then the Pharisee grammateis lead to Him a woman having been caught in the act of moicheia [adultery]. Standing her in the midst of the crowd, they say to Him, “Rabbi! this woman has been caught in the very act of moicheia. In The Law, Moses commanded us that such shall be stoned to death.”

DEUTERONOMY 22.22: If a man is found lying down with a woman married to a husband, then both of them shall die; the man who lay down with the woman and the woman …

John 11.28: Having said these words, she [Martha] went back and called her sister (Mary) whispering to her, “The Rabbi is here and calls for you.” As she heard these words, that one jumps up and comes running to Him.

RHABBONI

American: My Lord, My Master, Rabboni

This is an official title of honor of Chaldee origin. The only appearance of this word is in John 20.11: Mary stood weeping (outside, facing toward the tomb). Accordingly (as she wept), she stooped down, looking into the tomb and is a spectator of two angeloi (in white) sitting (one at the head and one at the feet) where the soma [body] of Jesus had lain. They say to her, “Woman! why do you weep?” She says to them, “Because they took up my Kurios and I not know where they put Him.” After saying these words, she turned and is a spectator of Jesus (standing there) and she not knows that it is Jesus. Jesus says to her, “Gunai [Woman]! why do you weep? Whom seek you?” She (thinking it is the gardener) says to Him, “Kurios! if you took Him up [away], tell me where you put Him and I will take Him.” Jesus says to her, “Mary!” Turning, she says to Him, “Rabonni!”
