Lesson 11 Amplified -- MANKIND

MANKIND

In American we generally use the term “mankind” in reference to human beings. Christian religions generally consider man (or woman) to be made up of three elements: [Koine Greek] soma, psuche and pneuma [simplified American: body, soul and spirit].

Almost Greek: [Words in italics are translator’s additions.]

Genesis 2.7: YHWH Elohiym [Triune God] formed Adam [his soma] of dust from the ground and blew into his nostrils neshamah [pneuma] of life and Adam was caused to be a living nephesh [psuche].

1st Thessalonians 5.23 May the Theos of peace Himself make you absolutely, perfectly hagios [holy, sacred, consecrated], perfectly sound in your pneuma and that your psuche and your soma may be faultlessly kept in [at] the return of our Kurios Jesus the Christos. He calling you is worthy of your pistis [reliance upon, faith] Who also will do the fulfilling of your call.

Lesson 10 Amplified -- PSUCHE

PSUCHE -- PSUCHAI

American singular: soul, life, psyche, ego ---- plural: souls, lives, psyches, egos

Hebrew Aramaic singular: nephesh

American Christians commonly define soul as “mind, will, and emotions”. This is our “natural” self. The following excerpts are examples of the uses of “psuche” in the New Testament (New Blood Covenant).

Almost Greek: [Words in italics are translator’s additions.]

1st Thessalonians 5.23: May the Theos of peace Himself make you absolutely, perfectly hagios [holy, sacred, consecrated], perfectly sound in your pneuma and that your psuche and your soma [body] may be faultlessly kept in the return of our Kurios Jesus the Christos. He calling you is worthy of your pistis [reliance upon, faith], Who also will do the fulfilling of your call.

HABAKKUK 2.4 “LO! the upright isn’t swelled in his nephesh” but the upright shall live by his emuwnan [pistis].”

1st Corinthians 15.45: So also, it gegraptai [has been written],“The first man, Adam, was caused to be into a living psuche.”

GENESIS 2.7: YHWH Elohiym [Triune God] formed Adam of dust from the ground and blew into his nostrils neshamah [breath] of life and Adam was caused to be a living nephesh.

2nd Corinthians 6.16: For you are a temple of a living Theos, even as Theos said,“I will inhabit them, and I will walk among them, and I will be their Theos and they shall be to Me a people.”

LEVITICUS 26.12: [YHWH speaking] “I will give [put] my residence in your midst and My nephesh shan’t detest you. I shall always walk in your midst and shall be to you for Elohiym and you shall be to Me for a people. I AM YHWH, Your Elohiym...”

Romans 11: I say then, didn’t Theos shove [push away] His people? Not let it be caused to be! For I also am an Israelite emergent from the spermatos [descendants] of Abraham (of the tribe of Benjamin). Theos hasn’t thrust away His people (whom He knew beforehand) or not know you what the Graphe [Scripture, part of Old Blood Covenant] says (in Elia [in Hebrew; “Elijah” in English: “Whose God is YHWH”]), how He entreats Theos down to [against] Israel saying, “Kurie, they have slain Your prophetas [before tellers, prophets], undermined Your places of sacrifice; I alone am left and they seek my psuchen.”

1st KINGS 19.10: Elijah said, “I was qana [zelos, hot, zealos] for YHWH (Elohiym of the Host [Hordes of Heaven]), but the sons of Israel have relinquished Your blood covenant. They have pulled down Your altars. They have smitten Your nabiy(s) [prophets] with swords and I alone remain, and they seek to take my nephesh.”

Luke 9.23: Now He said to all of them, “If anyone wishes to come after [accompany] Me, let him utterly deny [disown] himself and daily pick up his stake and accompany Me. For whoever thele [chooses, decides] to sosai [to make safe, to save] his psuche, will destroy it but whoever shall destroy his psuchen (because of Me), this one will sosei [save] it. For what does it benefit a man if he is gaining the whole kosmon [universe, world, cosmos] but destroying or injuring himself. For if anyone is ashamed of Me and My logoi, the Son of Man will be ashamed of this one whenever He comes into His glory and into the Father’s glory and into the glory of the hagion aggelon [messengers, angels] I say unto you, truly there are some of those now standing (in this same spot) who shan’t at all taste of death until they see the Kingdom of Theos.”

Matthew 10.28: [Jesus speaking] “And you shouldn’t fear from those killing the soma but not being able to kill the psuche; but rather fear the one being able to utterly destroy both the soma and psuche in Gehenna [Hell].

Matthew 12.16: and [Jesus] warned them in order that they shouldn’t make Him known, such that might be fulfilled the rhema [word from Father God] uttered via the prophetou Isaiah, saying, “LO! My Child, Whom I chose! the Agapetos [unconditionally beloved] of Me! into Whom My psuche has delighted!

ISAIAH 42.1 [YHWH speaking] “LO! My Servant! I will sustain Him (My selected One) in Whom My Nephesh is pleased!

Matthew 16.26: [Jesus speaking] “For what will a man be benefitted if he gains the whole kosmon but lose his psuche? Or what will a man give in exchange [ransom] for his psuche?”

Matthew 22.34: But the Pharisees, hearing that He muzzled the Sadducees, were assembledtogether with Him and one of them (a nomikos [expert in Mosaic Law, lawyer]) questioned Him, testing Him and saying, “Teacher! which one of the commands is megale [greatest] in The Law?” And Jesus said to him, “‘You shall agapeseis the Kurion (your Theos) in [with] all your heart and in all your psuche and in all your deep thought [understanding].’ This is the first and the megale command.”

Deuteronomy 6.5: [Moses speaking] “And you shall awhab [love] YHWH, your Elohiym, with the whole of your heart and with the whole of your nephesh and with the whole of your vehemence.

John 13.37: Rock says to Him [Jesus], “Kurie! why am I unable to accompany You now? I will lay down my psuchen for You.” Jesus answered him, “Will you lay down your psuchen for Me?”

Lesson 9 Amplified -- SOMA

SOMA --SOMAI

American singular: body -- plural: bodies

Hebrew Aramaic singular: geviyah

In the New Blood Covenant, soma is used both for the human body and for the whole, worldwide Church, which is the bride of our Lord Jesus the Christos.

Almost Greek: [Words in italics are translator’s additions.]

1st Thessalonians 5.23: May the Theos of peace Himself make you absolutely, perfectly hagios [holy, sacred, consecrated], perfectly sound in your pneuma and that your psuche and your soma may be faultlessly kept in the return of our Kurios Jesus the Christos. He calling you is worthy of your pistis [reliance upon, faith] Who also will do the fulfilling of your call.

1st Corinthians 6.12: All is lawful to me but not all makes a positive contribution. All is lawful to me; conversely, I won't be controlled by anything. Foods are for the stomach and the stomach for foods, but Theos will render entirely idle [useless] both this stomach and these foods. The soma isn’t for porneia [whoring, incest, non-marital sexual intercourse]; conversely, it’s for the Kurio and the Kurios for the somati. Now Theos also awakened [from death] our Kurion and will fully rouse us from death via his dunameos [force, power]. Don’t you know that your somata are limbs of the Christou? Then shall I take the limbs of the Christou and make of them limbs pornes [of a whore]? Not let it be caused to be! Or don’t you know that he being joined [coupled] to a porne is being in one soma with her? For he says, “The two will be into one flesh.”

GENESIS 2.24: [Adam prophesying] “Therefore shall a man leave his father and mother and shall impinge [ram, couple, cling, adhere] to his wife and they shall be into one flesh.”

1st Corinthians 10.15: As to the wise I say, “Distinguish what I say.” “Isn’t the cup of eulogias [fine speaking, commendation, blessing, eulogy] that with which we eulogoumen [speak well of, praise, bless] a koinonia [sharing, partnership] in the blood of the Christou? Isn’t the bread which we break a koinonia in the somatos of the Christou? Because of the One Bread, we many are one soma, for we all share the One Bread.

1st Corinthians 11.23: For I received from the Kuriou what I also transmitted to you: that the Kurios Jesus (in the night in which he was surrendered to the Judaeans) took a loaf of bread and eucharistesas [having given thanks to Theos], broke it and said, “Take! Eat! This is my soma broken on your behalf. Do this for My remembrance.” And in the same way He took the cup [traditionally set at every Passover dining table for the Mashiyach; ‘the Anointed One, Messiah] after the dining, saying, “THIS CUP is the New Covenant in My blood. Do this, as often as you imbibe, for My remembrance.” For as often as you may eat His bread and drink His cup you kataggellete [promulgate, publish, officially make known] the death of the Kuriou, until He may come. So too, whoever may irreverently eat this Bread or drink the Cup of the Kuriou is liable for the somatos and for the blood of the Kuriou. But let a man test himself and so let him eat of this Bread and let him drink of the Cup, for he (irreverently eating and drinking) eats and drinks a krima [decision, judgment rendered, verdict] to himself, for not discerning the soma of the Kurios. Via this violation are in [among] you many who are weak and infirm and many sleep [are dead].

1st Corinthians 12.12: For the soma is one and has many limbs but all the limbs of the one somatos (being many) are one soma; so also, it is in the Christos. Also, by one Hagios Pneuma, we were all ebaptisthemen [emersed, submerged, baptized] into one soma; whether Jews or Greeks [non-Jews]; whether slaves or free. Also, we were all given to drink into ourselves one Hagios Pneuma, for the soma isn’t one limb, conversely, many.

Colossians 1.13: [He, Theos, Father God] Who rescued us emergent from the authority of shadiness and transferred us into the Kingdom of the Son of His agapes [unconditional love]; He in Whom we have redemption via His [Jesus’] blood; the freedom of [from] hamartion [a miss of the mark or goal, offense, sin]. He Who is the eikon [image, likeness, statue, icon] of the invisible Theos (the firstborn of all creation), because in Him all was created: the things in the ouranois [elevation, the heavens, the sky, aloft] and the things upon the earth; the seen [visible] and the invisible (whether thrones or lordships or rank or authorities). All has been created via Him and to Him and He IS before the birth of the whole of creation, and all is presented in Him. Also, He is the Head of the somatos (the ekklesias [assembly, church]).

Lesson 8 Amplified -- TRINTY

TRINTY

The word “Trinity” doesn’t appear in the Old Testament nor in the New Testament. Christian religions generally use this term in reference to “the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit”. The Hebrews referred to the triune Godhead as “Elohiym”, which is plural, “Gods”.

Almost Greek: [Words in italics are translator’s additions.]

The First Person of the Trinity, Father God [See also “Theos”], IS the original Being and IS above and beyond all description. His personification is attested by our Lord Jesus in John 5.19: So, Jesus answered them, “Amen! Amen! I say to you, the Son isn’t able to do even one thing from Himself; He is only able to do what He sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, this the Son likewise does. The Father phile [loves] the Son and shows Him all that He Himself does and He will show Him greater than these works in order that you will marvel.”

The Second Person of the Trinity IS the ONLY begotten of the Father. He is God in the form of man. He is implicit in Genesis 1.26: Then Elohiym said, “Let US make man in OUR image, according to OUR resemblance.”

He appears as Melchizedek, King of Salem [King James’ translators’ transliteration of the Hebrew “Shalom” [safety, peace, health, happiness, prosperity, friendship] in Genesis 14.18: And Melchizedek, king of Salem, brought out bread and wine [foreshadowing of communion?]. Now He was a priest of El [Father God] Most High. And He blessed him [Abram] and said, “Blest be Abram of [by] El Most High, Possessor of Heaven and earth and praised be El Most High Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” And he [Abram] gave to Him [Melchizedek] a tenth of all the spoils of war. [Is this the first mention of “the tithe”?]

The Second Person of the Trinity is described in John 1.1: In the beginning [before time began] was the Logos [“Word”] and the Logos was with Theos [Father God] and the Logos was Theos [God Himself]. He was originally present with Theos. All came into being via [through] Him. Not even one thing came into being apart from Him.

The awesome realization of His arrival hits in John 1.9: Then, He was there, the true Light! He, coming into the kosmos [universe, world, cosmos], enlightens every man. He came into the kosmos and although the kosmos came into being via Him, the kosmos didn’t know Him.

The Third Person of the Trinty is the Hagios Pneuma [Holy Spirit; see also Parakletos] of Theos. He is God Who indwells us.

Galatians 4.6: Now because you are sons, Theos sent forth the Hagios Pneuma of His Son into your hearts, krazlon [cawing as a raven, shrieking, screaming, crying out] “Abba [in Chaldee; “Daddy” in American] Father”. So, you are also no longer a slave; conversely, a son and if a son also an heir of Theos via the Christou.

1st Corinthians 2.9: Conversely, even as it gegraptai [is written], “What eye didn’t see, and ear didn’t hear and not came up in the heart of man, this is how Theos prepared those agaposin [unconditionally loving] Him.”

ISAIAH 64.4: “From forever they haven’t heard; they not gave ear. Eye hasn’t seen an Elohiym (except You) Who work for him who waits for Him.”

[Corinthians cnt.] But, to us Theos revealed the mysteries via His Hagios Pneuma, for the Hagios Pneuma searches all, even the profundity of Theos. For who (in [among] men) knows the thoughts of a man except the pneuma of the man which is in him? So also, the thoughts of Theos not even one being has known except the Hagios Pneuma of Theos. Now we have not received the pneuma of the kosmou; conversely, we have received the Hagios Pneuma Who is emergent from Theos, in order that we may know the truths gratuitously given to us by Theos. These words I also speak, not in wisdom logoi taught of man; conversely, in words taught of the Hagios Pneuma, comparing the spiritual thoughts with the spiritual words.
