Lesson 15 Amplified -- CHARIS

We are often guilty of chopping words to facilitate conversation. Graciousness is shortened to “grace” throughout Christian literature.

1st Corinthians 12.4: There are varieties of charismaton, but the selfsame Hagios Pneuma. There are varieties of service, yet the selfsame Kurios. There are varieties of effects and the selfsame Theos is active in the whole of existence; in all. To each one is given the exhibition of the Hagios Pneuma to bear together [for the common good]. For (via the Hagios Pneuma) one is given a logos [word] of wisdom; to another, a logos of knowledge (down from the selfsame Hagios Pneuma); to another, pistis [reliance upon, faith] by the selfsame Hagios Pneuma; to another, charismata of healing by the selfsame Hagios Pneuma; to another, effect of dunameon [force, power]; to another, propheteia [inspired speech, prophesy]; to another, discerning of pneumaton [winds, breaths, spirits]; to another, kin [families] of glossai [tongues, languages]; to another, translation of glossai. In all of these, One and the same Hagios Pneuma is active, separately apportioning to each as He [Father] bouletan [wills, resolves, intends]. 

1st Corinthians 12.28: And whom in fact did Theos place in the ekklesia [church]? Firstly apostolous [delegates, ambassadors, apostles], secondly prophetas [inspired speech, prophesy], thirdly teachers, then works of dunameis, then charismata of healing, relief [help], pilotage [leadership], kin of glossai. Not all are apostoloi. Not all are prophetai [before tellers, prophets]. Not all are teachers. Not all are dunameis workers. Not all have charismata of healing. Not all speak glossai! Not all diermineuousi [thoroughly explain, interpret]. But crave the stronger charismata! 

2nd Corinthians 4.13: Likewise, we [I] pisteuomen [have faith] and via the Hagios Pneuma we [I] speak; knowing that He having awakened the Kurion Jesus also will awaken us [me] with Jesus and will stand beside us [me] with you. Thus, all is via you [is for your sakes] in order that charis may super-abound (via a greater number of people gratefully giving thanks to Him) to the glory of Theos.

 

Romans 5.12: Therefore, just as via one man [Adam] hamartia [missing the mark, goal, offense, sin] entered into the kosmon [universe, world, cosmos] and via hamartias death entered, so also death spread to all men because all committed hemarton. For until The Law was given, hamartia was in the kosmo, but hamartia isn’t charged when there isn’t law. Nevertheless, death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those not hamartesantas [committing sin] in the resemblance of Adam’s violation, who was a tupos [a die set, a shaper, a model, a type] of Him impending [coming]. Conversely, the free charisma isn’t as the violation. For if by one’s violation the many died, much greater the charis and the dorea [gift] in chariti of the One Man (Jesus the Christou) super-abounded to the many. Now the gift isn’t as that [death] which came via the one hamartesantos, for in fact the verdict emergent from that one led to condemnation; but the free charisma emergent from the violations of many led to acquittal. For if by the violation of one, death reigned via the [that] one, much more those who receive the super-abundance of the charitos and the gift of dikaiosunes [equity, justification, rightness] will reign in life via the One, Jesus the Christou. Then just as via one violation, condemnation came to all men, thus also via one dikaiomatos [equitable, just, right] deed, dikaiosin of life came to all men. For just as via the one man’s disobedience, the many were designated hamartoloi, in that way, via the obedience of the One, the many will be dikaioi [designated just]. Now The Law sneaked in, in order that the deviation might increase and where hamartia increased, charis super-abounded in order that (just as hamartia reigned in death), in that way charis might reign via dikaiosunes to eternal life via our Kuriou Jesus the Christou. 

Romans 8.31: What then shall we say to these issues? If Theos be over us, who downs [opposes] us? He Who not even spared His own Son (conversely, surrendered Him over us all), how won’t He (also, with Him) charisetai [gratuitously] give us everything that we need? 

Romans 11.5: Accordingly (in this way), in the present time a remnant has been caused to be down to charitos, divine selection. Now if it’s by chariti, it’s no longer emergent from works (otherwise charis is no longer caused to be charis). But if it’s emergent from works, it is no longer charis (otherwise work no longer is work). 

James 4.5: Or do you think that the Graphe [Scripture, part of Old Testament] vainly asks, “Yearns the Hagios Pneuma (Who has dwelt in us) to ill-will?” But He gives greater charin; therefore, it says, “Theos opposes the proud, but He gives charin to the humiliated.” 

Ephesians 1.3: Eulogetos [fine spoken of, commended, blest, praised] be the Theos and Father of our Kuriou Jesus the Christou Who blest us with all spiritual eulogesas [commendation, blessing, eulogy] above the sky [in Heaven], in the Christo (as He selected us in Jesus before the founding of the kosmou) to be hagious and unblemished before Him. He was predestining us (in agape) to adoption (via Jesus the Christou) to Himself, down [according] to His good pleasure and thelematos [determination, choice, decision, decree] (to the praise of His glory and charitos) with which He favored us in the Egapemeno [Beloved, Jesus], in Whom we have redemption (via Jesus’ blood); forgiveness of paraptomaton [side slips] down to the riches of the Father’s charitos. Which graciousness He caused to abound to us in all wisdom and intelligence, making known to us the musterion [secrets, mysteries] of His thelematos (down to His good pleasure) which Father proposed (in Himself, for administration of the fullness of times) to head up all the ouranois [heavens] and the earth in the Christo. Now in Him [Jesus], we have been selected to be an inheritance, being predestined down to the purpose of the Father (all working down to His boulen; His thelematos) for us to be His praise and glory (those having previously trusted in the Christo).In Him [Jesus], you were also hearing the logon of truth (the euaggelion [good news, gospel, evangel] of your soterias [rescue, safety, salvation]) and in Whom you were also pisteusantes [having had faith]. You were sealed up with the epaggelias [announced, proclaimed, promised] Hagios Pneuma Who is the earnest [down payment, deposit] of our inheritance until the redemption of the possession to Jesus’ praise and glory. 

Ezra 9.8: And now, for a little time, has been shown techinnah from YHWH our Elohiym, 

2nd Chronicles 30.9: For YHWH your Elohiym [the Trinity] are channuwn and compassionate.

Daniel 2.47: The king [Nebuchadnezzar] answered Daniel and said, “Truly your God is a God of gods and Lord of kings and a Revealer of secrets, since you were able to reveal this secret.” [Daniel interpreted the king’s very disturbing dream.] Then the king made Daniel great and gave to him many a great mattanah. 

Genesis 6.8: Noah found chen in the eyes of YHWH. 

Deuteronomy 28.49: YHWH shall lift up against you [the nation of Israel] a nation from afar (from the end of the earth), swooping down upon you as darts the eagle. This would be a nation whose lashown [tongue, language] you won’t understand; a nation of fierce face, which shan’t regard the aged nor show chanan to the young.

Lesson 14 Amplified -- ELPIS

ELPIS

American: expect, hope for 

Most existing English translations of the New Testament use “hope” for the Koine Greek elpis. As Christians, we “expect”. Those without faith merely “hope”.

Galatians 5.5: Because of the Hagios Pneuma emergent from pisteos[reliance upon, faith], we eagerly await the elpida [expected, hoped for] dikaiosunes[equity, justification, rightness]. 

1st Corinthians 9.10: Or is He speaking altogether for us [our sakes]? Yes! for our sakes. For us it egraphe [was written] because the one plowing ought to plow upon elpidi and he threshing to thresh upon elpidos of sharing in the elpidi harvest. 

Romans 5: Having then dikaiothentes [been rendered just] emergent from pisteos, we have peace with Theos via our Kuriou Jesus the Christou via whom we also have had admission (by pistei) into His charin [graciousness] in which we stand and over which we exult, the elpidi of the glory of Theos. Now not only this; conversely, we [I] also exult in stress, knowing that stress works completion of cheerful endurance and cheerful endurance works completion of trustiness and trustiness works completion of elpida. And elpis doesn’t shame down, for the agape of Theos has been poured forth in our hearts via the Hagios Pneuma Who was given to us. 

Romans 8.18: For I judge that the sufferings of the present time aren’t worthy to be compared forward to the impending glory to be revealed to us. For the intense anticipation of the creation is the revelation of the sons of Theos. For the creation was made subject to mataioteti [uselessness] (not voluntarily but via Him subjecting) over elpidi that also the creation itself will be freed off the slavery of decay to the freedom of the glory of the children of Theos. For we know that all creation jointly groans and suffers the pains of childbirth, up to now. Now not merely this; conversely, we (ourselves) also having the first fruits of the Hagios Pneuma. We (ourselves also having been under stress, in ourselves) are fully expecting adoption; the redemption of the somatos [body]. For by elpidi we esothemen [were being saved]; but elpis being seen isn’t elpis; for who elpizei what he sees? But if we elpizomen what we not see, we apekdechometha [fully expect] via cheerful endurance. 

Luke 6.33: And if you do well to those doing well to you, what sort of charis [graciousness, gratitude] is due to you? for hamartoloi [ones missing the mark, sinners, criminals] do the same. And if you loan near [to] whom you elpizete to receive in full, what sort of charis is due to you? 

Acts 26.6: And now, upon elpidi of the epaggelias [announcement, proclamation, promise] having been (caused to be) to the forefathers under [by] Theos, the promise which our commonwealth of Israel [twelve tribes] (intently worshiping night and day) elpizei to arrive. Concerning this elpidos, I am accused under the Judaeans, King Agrippa. 

Hebrews 6.9: But Agapetoi [unconditionally beloved]! even if I (in fact) speak so, I have been persuaded (about you) the better things; even holding fast soterias [rescue, safety, salvation]. For Theos is not unjust to be forgetful of your work and the labor of agapes you showed to His name, having served the hagios [saints] and now are serving them. But we want each one of you to show the same spouden [speed, alacrity, eagerness] to the full assurance of the elpidos unto the telos [the point aimed at, the end of this age], in order that you aren’t caused to be dull but caused to be imitators of those inheriting the promises via pisteos and makrothumias [forbearance, patient restraint]. 

Hebrews 6.16: For men (in fact) swear down to the greater and an oath (for confirmation) is to them the end of all contradiction (in which resolving more abundantly to show to the heirs of the epaggelias the unchangeableness of His council) Theos interposed by an oath, in order that via two unchangeable deeds (in that for Theos to lie is impossible) we might have a strong paraklesin [imploration, urging, encouraging, solace]; those of us having fled to lay hold of the elpidos set before us, which we have as an anchor of the psuches [soul, life, psyche, ego] (both secure and stable [firm]) and entering into the inner Holy of Holies of the veil; where Jesus entered, a forerunner (for us). 

Hebrews 10.19: Therefore, brothers, having confidence to the entering of the “Holy of Holies” in the blood of Jesus (which He consecrated for us) a new and living way via [through] the veil (that is His flesh) and having a megan [big, large, huge, great] Priest over the House of Theos, let us draw near with a true [honest] heart in full assurance of pisteos; our hearts having been rendered besprinkled from a poneras [hurtful] conscience and our soma [body] having been washed in clean [pure] water. Let us unyieldingly, tightly hold to the confession of the elpidos for He having promised is pistos [trustworthy, faithful]. 

Titus 2.11: For the charis [graciousness] of Theos has shone forth, defending all men (training us, as if children) in order that, having disavowed ungodliness and worldly lusts, we might live with discretion and dikaios [equitable, just, right] and pious in the present age. We are receiving the supremely blest elpida and manifestation of the glory of our megalou Theos and Soteros [Deliverer, Savior], Jesus the Christou, Who gave Himself over us in order that He might ransom us from all illegality and cleanse for Himself a special people, zealous of kalon [beautiful, virtuous] works. 

1st Peter 1.13: Therefore, tightening anew the belt of your mind (being sober) completely elpisate upon the charin [graciousness] being brought to you in the revelation of Jesus the Christou. As children of attentive hearkening, not conform yourselves to your former (in your ignorance) lusts but down to the Hagion One calling you. Also, be (caused to be) hagioi [holy, sacred, consecrated] in all your behavior because it gegraptai [has been written]: You be hagioi because I AM hagios!”

That Koine Greek has several distinct words for our single word love justifies the use of the Koine Greek words in Almost Greek, New Testament [New Blood Covenant].

Matthew 19.19: [Jesus speaking] “Tima [prize, value, revere] your father and your mother! And agapeseis your neighbor which how you love yourself.” 

John 13.34: [Jesus speaking] “. A new command I now give to you, that you agapate one another; as I egapesa you, so you also agapate one another. In [By] this, everyone will know that you are mathetai [learners, pupils, disciples] to Me, if you agapen in one another.” 

John 14.23: [Jesus speaking] “If anyone agapa Me, he will keep My logon [word] and My Father agapesei [will unconditionally love] him and we will come to him and will make an abode with him. The one, not agapon Me, not keeps My logous and the logos which you hear isn’t mine but Father’s; Him having sent Me.” 

John 21.15: Accordingly, when [after] we had breakfasted, Jesus says to Simon the Rock, “Simon Bar Jonah, do you agapas Me more than these?” He says to Him, “Yes! Kurie [Lord, Master]! You know that philo You.” He says to him, “Feed My lambs!” He (again) secondly says to him, “Simon Bar Jonah, do you agapas Me?” He says to Him,

“Yes! Kurie! You know that philo You.” He says to him, “Shepherd My sheep!” He thirdly says to him, “Simon Bar Jonah, phileis [do you love] Me?” Rock was grieved that He thirdly said to him, ‘Phileis Me?’ and he said, “You perceive all! You know that I philo You!” [Disowned/denied thrice; now, affirmed thrice.]

Lesson 12 Amplified -- HALLELUIA

ALLELOUIA 

American: praise JEHOVAH or YAHWAY

Hebrew Aramaic: hallel (praise) u (to) Yah (Yehovah or YHWH) 

The Greek word is a transliteration of the Hebrew Aramaic Hallel-u-Yah. The Hebrews felt that the name of Father God was too sacred to be pronounced. Therefore, they only spoke it as Yah.

Revelation 19: And after these events, I heard the phonen [sounds, tones, noises, voices] of a megalen [big, large, huge, great] throng in Ourano [Heaven], saying, “Hallel u Yah!
