Lesson 19 Amplified: EUAGGELIZO

EUAGGELIZO

American: announce good news, evangelize

Hebrew Aramaic: basar

EUAGGELION

American: good news, gospel, evangel

 EUAGGELISTES

American: preacher of the good news; evangelist

These words are all about the “Great Commission”. This term arose in Christianity during the seventeenth century and refers to Jesus’ command in Matthew 28.16.

Almost Greek: [Words in italics are translator’s additions.]

Matthew 28.16: Now we eleven mathetai [learners, pupils, disciples] traveled to Galilee to the mount where Jesus appointed us, and seeing Him, we prosekunesan [worshipped as a dog licks his master’s hand] Him but we wavered [doubted]. And approaching, Jesus talked with us, saying, “All authority in Ourano [Heaven] and upon the earth was [has been] given to Me. Accordingly, traveling, matheusate [train] all the ethne [races, non-Jews, Gentiles]. Baptizontes [immerse, submerge, baptize] the same into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Hagios Pneuma, teaching them to keep all, as much as I commanded you. And Lo! I AM amidst you all the days until the entire completion of the age. AMEN!”

1st Thessalonians 2: 2. For you yourselves know our entrance to you, Brothers, that it hasn’t been empty. Even though having undergone hardship before in Philippi, Macedonia as you know, we were bold, in our Theos, to speak to you the euaggelion of Theos in much anguish. For our paraklesis [imploration, urging, encouraging, solace] wasn’t of error nor of impurity nor deceit, but as we have been approved by Theos to be entrusted with the euaggelion, so we speak, not as pleasing men, but Theos; the One testing our hearts. For neither were we then in logos of flattery (as you know), not with motive of avarice (Theos is Witness) nor seeking glory from men (neither from you nor from others) being able to be burdened as apostoloi [delegates, ambassadors, apostles] of the Christos. We were gentle in your midst as a nurse brooding her own children. Longing for you so and having such warm feelings for you, I shared with you not only the euaggelion of Theos but also my own psuche [soul, life, psyche, ego] because you have been caused to be agapetoi [unconditionally beloved] to me. For you remembered my labor pains, Brothers, working night and day not to put a burden on anyone of you, I proclaimed to you the euaggelion of Theos. You and Theos are witnesses as to how pious, dikaios [just, righteous, equitable] and faultless I was to those having pistis [reliance upon, faith], even as you know how I parakalountes [invited, exhorted] you and paramuthoumenoi [encouraged, consoled] and testified to each of one you (as a father to his own children) that you walk appropriately to Theos, the One calling you into His kingdom and glory.

Romans 10.8: But what says it? “The rhema [word from God] is near you (in your mouth and in your heart).” That is the rhema of pisteos (which we kerussomen [proclaim, herald]), that if you acknowledge [covenant] in your mouth the Kurion Jesus and pisteuses [have faith] in your heart that Theos awakened Him emergent from dead, you sothese [will be saved]. For with the heart one holds pisteuetai toward dikaiosunen [equity, justification, rightness] and with the mouth one acknowledges toward soterian. For the Graphe [Scripture, part of Old Testament] says, “Everyone having pisteuon upon Him won’t be shamed down,” for there isn’t a distinction for the same Kurios of all of mankind (both of Jew and of Greek); wealth to all of those appealing to Him for “Everyone (whoever invokes the name [authority] of the Kuriou) sothesetai [will be safe; will be saved].”

JOEL 2.32 “For it will be that all who call out to the name of YHWH will escape [slip away], for in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance,” as YHWH has said, “and there is a survivor to whom YHWH shall call out.”

[Romans cont.] How then shall they appeal toward One in Whom they haven’t had pisteusan? How they pisteusousin [shall have faith] in One of Whom they haven't heard? How shall they hear apart from kerussontos [proclamation]? How shall they keruxousin [proclaim, herald] unless they are sent out? Just as it has been written, “How timely are the feet of those euaggelizouenon of peace; of those euaggelizouenon of good things!”

ISAIAH 52.7 [YHWH] “How at home on the mountain of God are the feet of him basar shalom [safety, peace, health, happiness, prosperity, friendship]; basar of good things; making deliverance understood, saying to Zion, ‘Your Elohiym reigns!’”

Luke 4.16: And He [Jesus the Christos] came into Nazareth, Galilee where He had been reared. And down to His habit (in the day of the Sabbath), He entered into the synagogue and stood up to read. And the Biblion [Roll, Scroll, Writing, Book] of the prophetou [before-teller, prophet] Isaiah was handed to Him. And having unrolled the Biblion, He found the place where it was written, “The Pneuma of the Kuriou is upon Me; wherefore He anointed Me to euaggelizesthai to the paupers. He has set Me apart to cure the broken hearted; to keruxia freedom to the prisoners and restoration of sight to the blind; to send forth the crushed in freedom; to keruxia a year approved of by the Kuriou.”

ISAIAH 61.1 “The Ruwach [Pneuma] of the Adonay YHWH is upon Me for YHWH has anointed Me to basar to the depressed. He has sent Me to bandage the burst heart; to call out freedom to those transported into captivity and the opening of confinement to the yoked; to call out a year of delight of YHWH and a day of revenge of our Elohiym [Triune God]; to sigh over [comfort] the whole of the mourners, to put [grant] consolation and joy to the mourners of [in] Zion; to give them embellishment instead of the depths of ashes, the oil of joy instead of the depths of mourning; the vestment of praise instead of the depths of the ruwach of feebleness and all of this such that one calls out to them: ‘Strong of rightness, plants of YHWH,’ to make Him gleam.”

[Luke cont.] Furling the Biblion and giving it back to the servant, He sat down. And the eyes of all in the synagogue were intently gazing upon Him. Now, He began to speak to them,

“On this day this Graphe has been fulfilled in your ears.”

Acts 5.40: They [the Judaean Sanhedrin] submitted to his [Gamaliel’s] authority and summoning the apostolous [delegates, ambassadors, apostles] (flaying [flogging] them), they commanded them not to speak in the name of Jesus and totally freed them. In fact, they then departed (from before the Sanhedrin) rejoicing that they were deemed entirely deserving to be made infamous over His name. Every day (both in the Temple and from house down to house) they not paused teaching and euaggelizomenoi of Jesus the Christon.

Acts 21.8: And having entered into the house of Philip the Euaggelistou (the same being emergent from [one of] the seven) we stayed near [with] the same.

Lesson 18 Amplified -- JUST

DIKAIOS

American: equitable, just, right

Hebrew Aramaic: tsaddiyq

Father God wants everyone, especially Christians, to do right and to be right in everything. Most existing translations use the word “righteous”.

DIKAIOSUNE

American: equity, justification, rightness

Hebrew Aramaic: tsidqah or tsadaqah

Most extant translations of the New Testament translate dikaiosune as “righteousness”.

Almost Greek: [Words in italics are translator’s additions.]

1st Thessalonians 2.10: You and Theos are witnesses as to how pious, dikaios and faultless I was to those having pistis [reliance upon, faith], even as you know how I encouraged, consoled, and testified to each of one you (as a father to his own children) that you walk appropriately to Theos, the One calling you into His kingdom and glory.

2nd Thessalonians 1.5: A clear indication of the dikaios krisis [decision, judgment rendered] of Theos is for you to be deemed entirely deserving of the Kingdom of Theos (for which, indeed, you suffer) since it’s a dikaios thing from beside Theos to requite to those squeezing you stress, and to you (those being squeezed) rest, with us, at the revelation of our Kurios Jesus from ouranos [elevation, the heavens, the sky, aloft] with angeloi [messengers, angels] of His dunamis [force, power] in flaming fire, giving full ekdikesis [retribution] to those not knowing Theos and to those not heeding the euangelion [good news, gospel, evangel] of our Kurios Jesus the Christos.

Galatians 2.19: For via law, I died to law in order that I might live to Theos. I have been crucified with the Christos, but I live; but no longer I, for the Christos lives in me. For the life, that I now live in the flesh, I live in pistis to the Son of Theos; He agapesas [unconditionally loving] me and surrendering-over Himself on my behalf. I not set aside the charis [graciousness] of Theos. For if dikaiosune comes via working law, then the Christos died for not even one thing.

Lesson 17 Amplified -- HAGIOS

HAGIOS

American singular: holy, sacred, consecrated, saint

French: saint

Hebrew Aramaic: qadowsh/qadosh, qodesh

HAGIOI

American plural: holies, sacred or consecrated ones, saints

The American language has adopted the French word “saint” for this Koine Greek noun. Anyone who has set himself/herself apart to be YHWH’s child is a saint.

Almost Greek: [Words in italics are translator’s additions.]

Deuteronomy 33.2: And he [Moses] said, “YHWH came from Sinai and dawned on them from Seir. He shone forth from Mount Paran and He came from the midst of a myriad of qodesh.”

Psalms 106.16: And they were jealous of Moses in the camp and of Aaron the qadowsh/qadosh one of YHWH, ...

Daniel 8.13: Then I heard a certain qodesh one speaking, and said another qadowsh/qadosh one to that one who before spoke, ...

1st Thessalonians 1.5: Our euaggelion [good news, gospel, evangel] came to you not only in logos [word] but also in dunamis [force, power] and in the Hagios [Holy, Sacred, Consecrated] Pneuma [Breath, Spirit] and in much assurance.

1st Corinthians: Paul (a called apostolos [delegate, ambassador, apostle] of Jesus the Christou via the thelematos [determination, choice, decision, decree] of Theos) and Sosthenes [“Safe in Strength”; chief of the synagogue at Corinth], to the ekklesia [assembly, church] of Theos in Corinth; those egiasmenois [having been made hagios] in Jesus the Christo; invited hagiois with all of those invoking the name [authority] of our Kuriou Jesus the Christou, both their Lord and ours, in every place:

1st Corinthians 6: Dares anyone of you (having a matter against another of you) to be judged before the adikeo [unjust] and not before the hagion? Don't you know that the hagioi will judge the kosmon [universe, world, cosmos]? And if the kosmos is judged by you, are you unworthy of small judgments? Don’t you know that we will judge aggeloi [messengers, angels]? (I’m not speaking of this present life.) If in fact (then) you have judgments in this life, do you seat as judges those being least esteemed in the ekklesia? “Shame on you,”

1st Corinthians 14.31: For you can all propheteuein [before-tell, speak under inspiration, prophesy] (down one by one) so all may learn and all may be parakalontai [invited, exhorted]. And the pneumata of propheton [before-tellers, prophets] are obedient to prophetais [inspired speech, prophesy] for Theos isn’t a God of instability; conversely, a God of peace. And so be it (in that manner) in all the ekklesiais of the hagion.

2nd Corinthians 13.11: Finally, brothers, rejoice! Thoroughly complete [perfect] yourselves. Parakaleisthe [invite, exhort] yourselves! Be of one mind! Be at peace and the Theos of agapes and of peace will be with you. Hug one another in a hagio kiss. All the hagioi here hug you.

Romans 8.26: In the same way, the Hagios Pneuma also joins in to help overcome our feebleness. For we not precisely know what we make proseuxometha [prayers] as is necessary; conversely, the Hagios Pneuma (Himself) intercedes on our behalf with ineffable sighs. But He searching the hearts knows the bent [inclination] of the Hagios Pneuma because He entreats over hagion down to the decision of Theos.

Colossians 3:12: Accordingly, dress yourself in the manner of the chosen of Theos: hagioi and egapemenoi [unconditionally loved], splen [spleen, guts, bowels, sympathy] of pity, chrestoteta [usefulness], humility, gentleness, forbearance; enduring one another and forgiving yourselves. In case anyone (toward any) has a complaint, just as (in fact) the Christos forgave you, so also should you. Above all these things put on agapen which is the perfect bond. Let the peace of Theos rule in your hearts (to which indeed you were called in one somati [body]) and be eucharistoi [grateful, thankful].

1st Peter 1.13: Therefore, tightening anew the belt of your mind (being sober), completely elpisate [expect, hope] upon the charin [graciousness] being brought to you in the revelation of Jesus the Christou. As children of attentive hearkening, not conform yourselves to your former (in your ignorance) lusts but down to the Hagion One calling you. Also, be (caused to be) hagioi in all your behavior because it has been written: You be hagioi because I AM hagios!”

Lesson 16 Amplified -- LOGOS – RHEMA

LOGOS -- LOGOI

American: singular: word -- plural: words

Hebrew Aramaic: dabar

RHEMA -- RHEMAI

American singular: word from God -- plural: words from God

Hebrew Aramaic singular: emer, omer, imrah or emrah

Extant Christian literature, including most New Testament translations, translate the Koine Greek word “rhema” as "word".

Almost Greek: [Words in italics are translator’s additions.]

1st Thessalonians 2.13: We constantly give eucharisteo [express gratitude, give thanks] to Theos that, having received the logos of Theos which you heard from me, you not received it as a logos of men but as it is, truly a logos of Theos that is also active in you (those having pistis [reliance upon, faith]). For you were caused to be imitators, Brothers, of the ekklesiai [assemblies, churches] of Theos in the Christos Jesus in Judea.

1st Corinthians 2: Coming to you, Brothers, I not came kataggellon [promulgating, publishing, officially making known] the testimony of Theos down [according] to superiority of logos or wisdom, for I decided not to know anything in [among] you except Jesus the Christou and Him having been crucified. In feebleness, in fear and in much trembling, I was with you. My logos and my kerugma [proclamation] were not in persuasive man wisdom logoi; conversely, in manifestation of the Hagios Pneuma and in dunameos [force, power], in order that your pistis not be in the wisdom of men but in the dunamei of Theos.

1st Corinthians 14.20: Brothers! not be children in the nous [intellect, mind, understanding] but be like infants in kakia [worthlessness] and be complete [mature] in the nous. It has been written in The Law [Books of Moses, Pentateuch [first five books of Old Blood Covenant], “In heteroglassois [other-tongues, foreign tongues] and in other [foreigners’] lips, I will speak to this people and in this way, they won’t listen to Me,” says the Kurios.

ISAIAH 28.11: For with foreign lip and another tongue, He will speak to this people what He said to them: “This is the repose. Cause the flagging to rest. This is the rest.” But they chose not to intelligently hear so the dabar of YHWH to them shall be, “Command upon command upon command ….”

ISAIAH 45.23 [YHWH] “I have sworn by Myself. My just dabar has gone out of My mouth and shan’t turn back to Me, in order that every knee shall bend to Me; every tongue shall swear of Me. He [Man] says, ‘Only YHWH is to me rightness and strength.’”

Matthew 8.5: Now Jesus having entered into Capernaum [“Nahum’s Town”], Galilee a centurion approached Him, imploring Him and saying, “Kurie! my child has been thrown in the house; a paralytic, terribly tortured.” And Jesus says to him, “Coming, I will heal him.” And responding, the centurion said, “Kurie! I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof; conversely, merely say the logou and my child will be cured, for I am a man under authority (having under myself soldiers) and I say to this one, ‘Go!’ and he goes and to another ‘Come!’ and he comes and to my slave ‘Do this!’ and he does it.” And Jesus marveled and said (to those accompanying Him), “Amen! I say to you, not even in Israel have I found such pistin. I say to you that many will come from the dawn [east] and from the sunset [west] and will recline at table amidst Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the Kingdom of the Ouranon [Heaven], but the sons of the Kingdom shall be ejected into the shadiness. There shall be wailing and grinding of teeth.” And to the centurion, Jesus said, “Withdraw! and in the manner you had episteusas [have had faith] let it be caused to be to you.” And his child was cured in that one [very] hour.

2nd Corinthians 12.2: I know a man [Paul himself] in the Christo, who fourteen years ago (whether in his somati [body] or outside his somatos (I NOT know, Theos knows), this man was snatched to the third Ouranou [Heaven]. I know that this man (whether inside his soma or outside his soma, I not know, Theos knows) was snatched to Paradeison [Paradise] and heard unspeakable rhemai which it isn’t right for a man to speak.

Romans 10.8: But what says it? “The rhema is near you (in your mouth and in your heart).” That is the rhema of pisteos (which we kerussomen [proclaim, herald]), that if you acknowledge [covenant] in your mouth the Kurion Jesus and pisteuses [have faith] in your heart that Theos awakened Him emergent from dead, you sothese [will be safe, will be saved].

Deuteronomy 30.14: For the dabar is very near to you (in your mouth and in your heart), in order that you may do it.”

Ephesians 5.25: Men! agapate [unconditionally love] your gunaikas [women, wives], even as the Christos also egapese the ekklesian and surrendered Himself (for its sake) in order that He might hagiase [make holy] it (cleansing it by bathing in a rain of rhemati) in order that He might present it to Himself as the glorious ekklesian (not having spot or wrinkle or any of such defects) but in order that it be hagia and unblemished.

Luke 1.26: Now in the sixth month, the aggelos [messenger, angel] Gabriel was sent forth (by Theos) into a city of Galilee (which is named Nazareth) to a maiden [virgin] having been engaged to a man whose name was Joseph (emergent from the house of David). And the name of the maiden was Mariam [in Greek; “Maryam” in Hebrew; “Mary” in English]. And entering to her the aggelos said, “Cheers, to you, the one charitoo [receiving graciousness]! The Kurios is amidst you. Eulogemene [spoken well of, praised, blessed] are you in [among] gunaixsin [women]!” And seeing that she was totally disturbed over his logo and that she was thoroughly analyzing what possible sort of greeting this might be, the aggelos said to her, “Not fear, Mariam, for you have found charin [graciousness] from beside Theos and LO! you will conceive in your stomach [womb] and bear a son and you will call his name Jesus. The same will be megas [big, large, huge, great] and will be called the Son of the Highest and the Kurios Theos will give to Him the throne of His forefather David and He will rule over the house of Jacob to the ages and there won’t be an end to His royalty.” And Mary said to the aggelos,“How will this be since I not know a man?” And beginning to speak, the aggelos said to her, “The Hagios Pneuma will come over you and the dunamis of the Highest will overshadow you and consequently, that Being born emergent from you will be called the Hagion Son of Theos. And LO! your relative Elizabeth, she has conceived a son (and in her senility) and this is the sixth month with her (the one called sterile) because not will be called impossible any rhema from beside Theos.” And Mary said, “LO! the slave of the Kuriou! May it be (caused to be) to me down to your rhema.” And the aggelos went off [away] from her.

Matthew 4: Now Jesus (replete [totally full] of the Hagios Pneuma) returned from the Jordan River and was led in the Hagios Pneuma into the desolate area; being tested for forty days under the diabolou [leader to shame, devil, satyr]. And He not ate not even one bite in those forty days. And the same forty days being completed (being without food), He was famished, and the diabolos said to Him, “If You are the Son of Theos, speak to this stone in order that it may be caused to be bread.” And Jesus began to speak to him, saying, “It has been written that man shan't solely live on bread; conversely, upon every rhemati of Theos.”

Deuteronomy 8.3: And you shall remember the whole of the road over which YHWH your Elohiym [Triune God] has brought you (these forty years in the fields) in order to humble you; to test you; to ascertain what is in your heart, whether or not you will keep His commands. And He humbled you and gave you hunger and caused you to eat manna [“What is it?”], which you hadn’t known before (nor had your ab [fathers] known), in order to cause you to know that not only by food adam [man] lives, but mankind shall live by all blowing forth from the mouth of YHWH.”

John 1: In the beginning [before time began] was the Logos [Second Person of the Trinity] and the Logos was with Theos [Father God] and the Logos was Theos [God Himself]. He was originally present with Theos. All came into being VIA HIM; not even one thing came into being apart from Him. Life was [is] in Him and was [is] the Light of men. This Light shines in shadiness for the shadiness has never overpowered it. [Shadows retreat from light.]
