Lesson 31 Amplified – JUSTIFY

DIKAIOO

American: to render just, justify

In Amplified Lesson Eighteen, we studied the state of being “just” before Theos. Now, we consider being made just, or being justified. We are justified by our having faith that Jesus’ suffering and death atoned for all our hamartiai [misses of the mark or goal, offenses, sins].

Almost Greek: [Words in italics are translator’s additions.]

Galatians 2.15: We natural Jews (not being hamartoloi [offending, sinning] non-Jews) are knowing that a man isn’t dikaioutai emergent from working at law, if not [but] via pistis in Jesus the Christou. We even had pistis [reliance, faith] into Jesus the Christou in order that we may be dikaiothomen emergent from pistis (in the Christou and not emergent from working law) on the very account that all flesh [no flesh] dikaiothomen [will be justified] emergent from working law. Now, if we, seeking to be dikaiothenai in the Christo, ourselves are found to be hamartoloi, is then the Christos a servant of hamartias? Let it not be caused to be! For if I rebuild the things I have destroyed, I establish myself as a parabates [one going contrary to; a violator]. For via law, I died to law in order that I might live to Theos. I have been crucified with the Christo, but I live; but [yet] NO longer I, for the Christos lives in me. For the life, that I now live in the flesh, I live in pistis to the Son of Theos; He agapesantos [unconditionally loving] me and surrendering-over Himself on my behalf. I not set aside the charin [graciousness] of Theos. For if dikaiosune comes via working law, then the Christos died for not even one thing.

Galatians 3.9: Know then that those emergent from pistis, these are the sons of Abraham. Now, foreseeing the Graphe [Scripture, part of Old Testament] that Theos dikaioi [would render just] the ethne [races, non-Jews, Gentiles] emergent from pistis, He proclaimed the euaggelion [good news, gospel, evangel] in advance, to Abraham, “...that all ethne will be blest in you.”

GENESIS 12.3 [Adonay {Kurios} speaking],

“... and in you shall all the families [tribes] of the earth be blest.”

Galatians 3.24: The Law [Pentateuch, Books of Moses, first five books of the Old Testament] has been caused to be our trainer into the Christon, in order that we might be dikaiothomen emergent from pisteos. Now, pisteos having come [arrived], we are no longer under a trainer. For you are all sons of Theos via pistis in Jesus the Christo. For as many of you as were ebaptisthete [immersed, submerged, baptized] into the Christon, you put on the Christos. There aren’t in you Jews nor Greeks; there isn’t in you slave nor freeman [citizen]; there isn’t in you male nor female; for you are all one in the Christo Jesus. Now, if you are of the Christou, then you are spermai [descendants] of Abraham; even heirs down to epaggelian [announcement, proclamation, promise].

1st Corinthians 4: So, let us inventory a man as huperetes [under-oarsmen, galley slaves] of the Christou and stewards of the musterion [secrets, mysteries] of Theos. Furthermore, it is sought among stewards that they are found pistos [faithful]. It is to me the smallest thing in order that I am scrutinized by you or under a man’s day; conversely, I not scrutinize myself. For I do not scrutinize even one thing of myself; conversely, I not dedikaiomai [have been rendered just] in [by] this process. He, scrutinizing me is Kurios. So, not judge anything ahead of time (before the Kurios comes), Who will both shed light on the hidden things of obscurity and will reveal the advice of the hearts. Then praise will be to each one from Theos.

1st Corinthians 6.9: Or not know you that those adikeo [being unjust] won't be heirs to the Kingdom of Theos? Do not be led astray! Not pornoi [male prostitutes], nor idolaters, nor moichoi [adulterers], nor effeminate, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor plunderers; in no way shall they be heirs to the Kingdom of Theos. And some of you were these, but you were totally washed; but you hegiasthete [were made holy]; but you edikaiothete [were rendered just] in the name of the Kuriou and in the Hagios Pneuma of our Theos.

Romans 2.12: For as many as hamarton, without The Law, will be totally destroyed without The Law; as many as are hamarton, in [under], The Law will be krithesontai [judged, put on trial] via The Law; for the hearers of The Law aren’t dikaioi with Theos; conversely, the performers of The Law dikaithesontai [shall be rendered just].

Romans 3.4: Theos is true and all of mankind a liar, just as it has been written,

“Whatever (However) You dikaiothes [might be rendered just] in Your logoi [words] and will prevail in Your krinesthai [being on trial].”

Luke 18.9: Now, He also spoke (to some of those relying upon themselves; that they are the dikaioi, but also despising the rest) this parable: “Two men went up to the Temple to proseuchasthai [to humbly beg God; to pray], the one a Pharisee and the other a tax-collector. Standing, the Pharisee was proseuchto to himself these words, ‘Theos! I am grateful that I am not just as the rest of men; rapacious, unjust, moichoi or even as this tax-farmer. I fast twice a week. I tithe everything, as much as I get.’ And the tax-farmer (standing at a distance) wouldn’t even raise up his eyes to Ouranon [Heaven]; conversely, he thumped his chest saying, ‘Theos! reconcile me, the hamartolo, to You.’ I say to you, the same went down to his house dedikaiomenos [having been justified], rather than that other one, because everyone (elevating himself) will be humiliated, now [but] he (humiliating himself) will be elevated.”

Titus 3: Quietly remind them to subordinate themselves to chiefs and authorities (to submit to authority); to be ready toward all good work (vilifying not even one person), to be amachous [without-fighting, peaceable], all appropriate [moderate], showing gentleness toward all men. For we were also once without understanding; unpersuadable, caused to stray, slaving for lusts and motley sensual pleasures, passing time in kakia [worthlessness] and ill-will; stugetoi [hateful]; misountes [hating] one another. But chrestotes [usefulness] and philanthropia [love of mankind] shone forth from Abba Theos our Soteros [deliverer, savior], not emergent from works of dikaiosune which we had done, but down to his compassion, He esosen [made safe, saved] us via bathing of spiritual rebirth and renovation of the Hagios Pneuma, Whom He copiously poured forth upon us via Jesus the Christou, our Soteros, in order that dikaiothentes [being justified] by that charity [graciousness], we might be caused to be heirs down [according] to the elpida [expectation, hope] of eternal life.

Lesson 30 Amplified – SOTER

SOTER

American: deliverer, savior

SOTERION

American: defender, savior

Amplified Lesson 27 is about being rescued, saved, safe, and having salvation. This lesson is about the One Who rescues, delivers, and saves.

Almost Greek: [Words in italics are translator’s additions.]

Philippians 3.20: For our citizenship is in Ouranois [Heaven]. Emergent from there, we also fully expect a Sotera (the Kuriou Jesus, the Christou) Who will transfigure [transform] our soma [body] of humiliation into it being caused to be conformed [similar] to the somati of His glory (down to the energeian [activity, efficiency] of His capability), even to subordinate everything to Himself.

Luke 1.46: Mary said, “My psuche [soul, life, psyche, ego] megaluno [makes or declares great] the Kurion and my pneuma [spirit] jumps for joy over Theos my Soteri, because He gazed with favor upon the low estate of His slave. For LO! from now on, all the generations will pronounce me supremely blest, for the Mighty One magnificently did to me, and Hagiou is His name, and His compassion is to generations of generations of those fearing Him.”

Luke 2.8: And in the same territory, there were shepherds camping out and keeping guard (in the night) over their flock. And LO! an aggelos [messenger, angel] of the Kuriou stood before them, and the glory of the Kuriou illuminated all around them, making it as light as day. And they feared with megan fear, and the aggelos said to them, “Not fear for LO! I euaggelizouai [announce good news, evangelize] to you of megalen joy, which will be to all the people, because on the [this] day was born (to you) a Soter, who is the Christos (the Kurios), in the City of David. And this is a semeion [sign, indication] to you. You will find a baby (having been swathed in burial strips) lying in a manger.” And suddenly there were caused to be (with the aggelos) a throng of the heavenly army praising Theos and saying, “Glory in the Highest [Heaven] to Theos and upon the earth, peace in men of His satisfaction.”

Luke 2.25: And LO! there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon [“Hearing”], and this man was dikaios [equitable, just, right] and pious, confidently awaiting the solace of Israel. And the Hagios Pneuma was upon him, and it was spoken via oracle to him (through the Hagios Pneuma) that he wasn’t to see death before he sees the Christon of the Kuriou. And he came (in the Hagios Pneuma) into the Temple. And when His parents introduced the Child, Jesus, into the Temple (they doing down [according] to the custom of The Law [Pentateuch, first five books of the Old Testament] concerning Him), and he [Simeon] received Him into his arms, and he eulogemene [fine spoke, commended, blessed, praised] Theos and said, “Now, fully free your slave, Despota [Despot; absolute ruler], (down to Your rhema), in shalom [safety, peace, health, happiness, prosperity, friendship], because my eyes have seen Your Soterion Which [Whom] You prepared down [before] the face of all the peoples; a light to disclosure [revelation] to the ethnon [nations, non-Jews, Gentiles], and a glory of Your people Israel.”

Luke 3.4: [John the Baptist speaking] Just as has been written in the Biblo [Bible Book] of the logon [word] of Isaiah the prophetou, saying, “I am the phone [sound, tone, noise, voice] of one helloing [calling out “hello”] in the desolate area; prepare the road of the Kuriou. Make His paths straight and level. Every pharagx [gap, chasm] shall be filled up and every mountain and hill shall be depressed [flattened] and the skolia [crooked, warped, winding] shall be made into straight and the ragged [rugged] trails into smooth roads, and all flesh shall gaze wide-eyed at the Soterion of Theos.”

ISAIAH 40.3 This is the kole [phone] of him calling out to one in the fields, “Turn to the way of YHWH. Make a thoroughfare straight and level in the desert, for our Elohiym [Triune God]. The whole of the gorges shall be lifted up and the whole of the mountains and hills shall be depressed and the knoll shall become a level plain and a mountain ridge shall become a split [wide] level valley, and the weight [splendor] of YHWH shall be uncovered [revealed] and the whole of flesh shall see unity.”

Acts 5.29: But beginning to speak, Rock and the apostoloi said, “It is necessary to submit to the authority of Theos, rather than men. The Theos of our forefathers awakened Jesus, Whom you seized, hanging Him upon a timber. This One Theos elevated to His right (a Ruler and a Sotera) to give prickling of conscience and freedom from hamartion to Israel. We are witnesses of Him and of these rhematon [words from God] and of the Hagios Pneuma, Whom Theos gave to those submitting to His authority.”

Acts 13.16: Now, standing up and sweeping downward with his hand, Paul said,“Men! Israelites! and those fearing Theos, listen: The Theos of this people Israel selected out fathers and elevated the people in the sojourn in the land of Egypt. And He led them forth (emergent from the same) with a lofty arm. And on the way, He endured their ways for forty years' time (in the wasteland). And He put down seven ethne (in the land of Canaan), apportioning to each tribe of them [Israelites] their [the Canaanites’] land. And four hundred fifty years after these events, He gave judges to them until the prophetes Samuel. And from that time (they had asked for a sovereign) Theos gave them Saul (son of Kish [“a Bow”]), a man of the tribe of Benjamin [“Son of My Right”] for forty years. And transferring [removing] the same, He roused [raised] David [“Beloved”] to be sovereign to them (to whom He also said, testifying): ‘I found David, the son of Jesse [“Firm” or “a Gift”], a man down to My heart, who will do all My thelemata [determinations, choices, decisions, decrees].’ From the spermatos [descendants] of this man (down [according] to epaggelian [announcement, proclamation, promise]), He roused to Israel a Sotera, Jesus.

Ephesians 5.22: Gunaikes [women, wives]! subject yourselves to your own men [husbands] as if to the Kurio, because a man is head of his gunaikos, which how also the Christos is Head of the ekklesias [assemblies, churches], and He is Soter of the somatos [church body]. As the ekklesia is subject to the Christo, so also gunaikes are to be subject to their own men in everything. Men! agapate [unconditionally love] your gunaikas, even as the Christos also egapese the ekklesian and surrendered Himself (for its sake), in order that He might hagiase [make holy] it (cleansing it by bathing in a rain of rhemati [words from God]), in order that He might present it to Himself as the glorious ekklesian (Not having spot or wrinkle or any of such defects), but in order that it be hagia and unblemished. Men ought so to agapan their gunaikas as their own somata.

2nd Timothy 1.10: But now, this testimony is shining [apparent] via the manifestation of our Soteros Jesus the Christou, truly katargesantos [rendering death entirely useless]; shedding rays of light and life and immortality via the euaggeliou, for which I was placed a herald and an apostolos and a teacher of the ethnon (for which reason I also experienced these trials), but I do not feel shame for them, for I know into Whom I pepisteuka [have put my faith] and am convinced that He is able to guard my deposit unto that Day [Judgement Day].

Titus 2.9: Slaves are to subordinate themselves to their own despotais [depots, masters] (to be fully agreeable in everything; not arguing, not embezzling, but showing good pistin in all) in order that they may adorn the teaching of Theos (our Soteros) in everything. For the charis of Theos has shone forth, defending all men (training us, as if children) in order that, having disavowed ungodliness and worldly lusts, we might live with discretion and dikaios and pious in the present age. We are receiving the supremely blest elpida [expectation, that hoped for] and manifestation of the glory of our megalou Theos and Soteros (Jesus the Christou), Who gave Himself over us in order that He might ransom us from all illegality and cleanse (for Himself) a special people, zealous of kalon [beautiful, virtuous] works.

Lesson 29 Amplified – PONEROS

PONEROS

American: hurtful

Most published translations use the word evil for poneros, but evil isn’t found in the Koine Greek New Testament. Even the devil is referred to (by our Lord Jesus, the Christos, in His prayer) as hurtful.

Almost Greek:

(Words in italics are translator’s additions)

2nd Thessalonians 3: For the rest, Brothers, proseuchomai [humbly beg God, pray], concerning me, that the logos of the Kurios will briskly move and be rendered glorious, as indeed it is with you, and in order that I may be rescued from perverse and poneron men, for the pistis isn’t in the whole of humanity. But the Kurios is worthy of pistis, Who sterizo [will securely set, will make steadfast] you and isolate [guard] you from the ponerou one.

Luke 6.45: The good man (emergent from the good deposit of his heart) bears forth good. The poneros man (emergent from the ponerou deposit in his heart) bears forth poneron [hurt]. His mouth speaks emergent from the superabundance of his heart.”

Luke 8: 8: And it was caused to be in the thereafter [later], and He [Jesus] traveled down through cities and villages kerusson [proclaiming, heralding] and euaggelizomenos preaching the good news] of the Kingdom of Theos. And the twelve apostoloi traveled with Him, and also some gunaikes [women], who were [had been] delivered from poneron pneumaton [spirits] and from feebleness: Mary being called “The Magdalene” [from a town called Magdala: “Tower,” in Galilee], from whom seven demons had issued, and Joanna the gune [woman, wife] of Chuza [“The Seer” or “The Prophet”], the steward of Herod Antipas, and Susanna, and many others that served Him from their possessions.

Luke 11.2: Now, He said to them,“Whenever you proseuche [humbly beg God;pray], say: ‘Our Father, the One in the Ouranoi [Heavens]! Your Name hagiastheto [make holy God]! Make Your Kingdom come. Cause Your thelema [determination, choice, decision, decree] to be, as in Ouranos [Heaven], so also upon the earth. Give us down to the day [day-by-day] our needed bread. And aphes [send forth, forsake, forgive] us our hamartiai [misses of the mark, goal; offences, sins], for we ourselves also send forth all indebted to us. And not carry us into testing; conversely, rescue us from the ponerou one.’”

Ephesians 6.10: For the rest, my brothers, be empowered in the Kurio and in the might of His strength. Put on the whole armor of Theos, for you to be able to stand against the wiles of the diabolou [leader to shame, devil, satyr], because it isn’t us wrestling against flesh and blood, but against the chiefs; against the forces; against the kosmos-rulers of the shadiness of this age; against the pneumatika [spiritual] powers of ponerias [whoring, committing incest, doing non-marital sexual intercourse] above the sky! Because of this, take up the whole armor of Theos, in order that you may be able to stand against [oppose] in the ponera day, and having worked out all, to stand. Stand then, having girded about your loins with truth

ISAIAH 11.5 [Jesus] Rightness shall be the belt of His waist and fidelity the belt of His loins.

Ephesians continued: and putting on the breastplate of dikaiosunes

ISAIAH 59.17 [YHWH] He put on rightness like armor and a helmet of yeshuwah [soteria: rescue, safety, salvation] on His head.

Ephesians continued:

and having shod your feet in the preparation of the euaggeliou of peace.

ISAIAH 52.7 YHWH says, “LO! how suitable [appropriate], on the mountain of God, are the feet of him bringing glad news, making shalom [safety, peace, health, happiness, prosperity, friendship] heard, bringing news of good, making heard yeshuwah [soteria], saying to Zion, ‘Your Elohiym reigns.’”                                                                                                   Ephesians continued: Above all, having taken up the shield of pisteos (in which you will be able to quench all the having-been-made-fiery darts [arrows] of the ponerou one), take up the helmet of soteriou and the sword of the Hagios Pneuma (which is the rhema [word] of Theos), via all proseuches [humbly begging God, praying] and deeseos [petitions, requests, prayers], at all times [always] proseuchomenoi in the Hagios Pneuma, and keeping awake to this same in all persistence and deesei concerning the hagion.

Matthew 5.34: [Jesus speaking] “But I say to you, not swear at all; neither by Ourano (because it is the throne of Theos), nor by the earth (because it is the footstool of His feet), nor to Jerusalem (because it is the city of the megalou King).”

ISAIAH 66.1 Thus says YHWH: "Shamayin [Ouranos] is My throne and the earth is the footstool of My feet.”

PSALM 48.2 Mount Zion (on the flank of the north) is the city of the great King[YHWH].            Matthew continued: “Neither swear by your head (because you aren’t able to make one hair white or black), but let your logos [word] be: ‘Yes! Yes!’’ or ‘no, no!’ Now, more than these words is [are] emergent from the ponerou one.”

Matthew 6.7: But when proseuchomenoi, don’t stutter [use repetitions] as the ethnikoi, for they think that (in their much self-repetition) they will be heard. Don’t do as they do, for your Father knows of what you have need before you ask Him. Accordingly, you must proseuchesthe in this way: ‘Our Father in the Ouranois! Let Your Name hagiastheto [be made holy God]. Let Your Kingdom come. Let Your thelema [determination, choice, decision, decree] be caused to be as in Ourano, so also upon the earth. Give to us on the [this] day our needed bread and aphes [send forth, forsake, forgive] us our debts in the way we also aphiemen our debtors. And not carry us into testing; conversely, rescue us from the ponerou one. Amen!’ For if you aphete their sideslips, your Heavenly Father will also aphiesei you, but if you not aphete their sideslips, neither will your Father aphesei your sideslips.”

Matthew 13.16: [Jesus speaking] “Supremely blest are your eyes (because they see) and your ears (because they hear), for Amen! I say to you, that many prophetai [before-tellers, prophets] and many dikaios [equitable, just, right] ones set their hearts upon seeing what you see and didn’t see it, and set their hearts upon hearing what you hear and didn’t hear it. Accordingly now, you get to hear the meaning of the parable of the sower: All hearing the logon [word] of the Kingdom and not putting together, the Poneros One comes and seizes the [that which] was sown in his heart. This is the word sown near the road.”

1st John 5.18: We know that everyone having been begotten emergent from Theos not hamartanei; rather, the One begotten emergent from Theos guards himself and the poneros one not attaches himself to him. We know that we are emergent from Theos, and the whole kosmos lies spread-eagled in ponero [hurtfulness]. Now, we know that the Son of Theos is here and has given to us an understanding, that we might know the Truthful One in His Son, Jesus the Christo. This One is the true Theos and the eternal life. Babes! Isolate yourselves from idols! Amen!
