MURIOI
American: 10,000, innumerable, myriads
This Koine Greek word is best defined as countless or innumerable. In mathematics the terminology would be “unbounded”.
Almost Greek: [Words in italics are translator’s additions.]
Acts 21.17: Now, we [Luke
with Paul] being caused to be in Jerusalem, the brothers gladly received
us. Now the following day, Paul went
in with us, both to James Bar Joseph
and all the elders were present. And having hugged the same, he related
down in each [one by one] of what Theos did in the ethnesi [races,
nations, non-Jews, gentiles] via his service. Now hearing, they praised the
Kurion [Lord, Master] and said to the same,
“You see, brother, how many muriades there are of Jews episteukoton [having had faith] and they are all zealotai [zealots] of THE LAW [Pentateuch, The Books of Moses, first five books of the Old Testament].
Jude 9: Similarly (however), also these dreamers [fantasizers] (in fact) sully the flesh, reject authority and blasphemousin [speak irreverently of, speak profanely of, blaspheme] glorious Ones. But even Michael the archaggelos [chief messenger, chief angel] (when diakrinomenos [thoroughly separating from, withdrawing from] the diabolo [leader to shame, devil, satyr], in dielegeto [thoroughly discussing, arguing] concerning the somatos [body] of Moses), not was bold to lay upon him blasphemias krisin [decision, judgment rendered, verdict] but said, “The Kurios admonish you!” But these fantasizers blasphemousin as much as they not properly know. But what they speak as irrational living beings, in these ideas they are physically shriveled. Woe to them! because they went the road of Cain and to the fraudulence of Balaam, who poured themselves forth for wages and as in the disobedience of Korah, perished. These are in your agapais [love feasts]; rock reefs feasting with you, feeding themselves without fear; waterless clouds being carried around under the power of winds; barren late-autumn trees twice dying off, having been uprooted; wild swells of the sea foaming upon their disgrace; roving stars [planets] for whom has been kept gloom of shadowiness to the age. And Enoch proepheteuse [before told, spoke under inspiration, prophesized] of these in the seventh generation from Adam, saying, “LO! the Kurios came (with muriasin of His hagiais [holy, sacred, consecrated ones; saints]) to do krisin [a decision, a judgment rendered, a verdict] against all and to fully convict all the irreverent of them concerning all their irreverent works which they impiously did and concerning all the dry words which they spoke down to [against] Him.”These are irreverent hamartoloi [missers of the mark or goal, erring ones, offenders, sinners] grumblers, blaming fate, walking down to their yearnings. Their puffed-up mouth insolently speaks; their faces admiring [flattering] for the sake of opheleias [advantage] over you.
Revelation 5: And I saw a biblos [roll, scroll, writing, book] on the right of the One [Father God] sitting down upon the Throne, having been written from inside and from the back; having been closely sealed with seven seals. And I saw a forceful [powerful] aggelon [messenger, angel] kerussonta [proclaiming, heralding] with megale [big, large, huge, great] phone [sound, tone, noise, voice], “Who is deserving [worthy] to open the biblos and to loosen the signet seals of the same?” And not even one being in Ourano [Heaven] nor upon the earth nor down under the earth was able to open up the biblos nor to look at the same. And I [John] greatly sobbed because not even one being was deserving to open and to read the biblos nor to look upon the same. And one emergent from the elders says to me, “Don't sob. LO! the Lion subdued (being of the offshoot [tribe] of Judah, the root of David) such that He is able to open up the biblos and to loosen the seven signet seals of the same.” And I saw and LO! in the middle of the Throne and in the middle of the four living beings [seraphim] and in the middle of the elders, a Lamb standing (as if having been butchered) having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Hagios Pneumata [Winds, Breaths, Spirits] of Theos, having been sent out into all the earth. And He came and took the biblos emergent from the right of the One sitting down upon the Throne. And when He took the biblos, the four living beings and the twenty-four elders fell down in the face of the Lamb, each having lyres and bowls of gold, full of fragrances which are the proseuchai [prayers] of the hagion [holy ones, sacred ones, consecrated ones; saints] And they sing a new song, saying, “Deserving are You to take the biblos and to open up the signet seals of the same because You were butchered and bought us to our Theos in Your blood, emergent from every offshoot and tongue and people and ethnous [nation, race] and made us sovereigns and priests to our Theos and we shall rule upon the earth.” And I saw and I heard a phone of many aggelon encircling the Throne and the living beings and the elders and the number of them was muriades of muriadon saying with megontes phone, “Deserving is the Lamb (having been butchered) to take dunamin [force, power] and wealth and wisdom and forcefulness and timen [value, esteem, dignity] and glory and eulogian [fine speaking of, praise, blessing].” And all the created beings which are in Ourano and in the earth and down under the earth and upon the sea and the created creatures the same; I heard all of them saying, “To the One sitting down upon the Throne and to the Lamb, eulogia and time [value, esteem, dignity] and glory and forcefulness to the ages of the ages.”
