Lesson 125 Amplified -- EKDIKOS

 EKDIKOS

American: One meting out punishment, Avenger (Theos)

EKDIKESIS

American: vindication, retribution, punishment

Hebrew Aramaic: shillem

EKDIKESAI

American: to vindicate, to retaliate, to punish, to avenge

Hebrew Aramaic: naqam

It seems inborn (in human nature) to seek retribution over a wrong received. But we are instructed in the Bible not to do so. In fact, we are told to bless those, even materially, who wrong us. Nevertheless, when the offender is to be punished, Theos will do the punishing.

Almost Greek: [Words in italics are translator’s additions.]

1st Thessalonians 4: Finally then, brothers, we request of you and parakaloumen [call near, invite, urge, exhort, encourage, console] you in the Kurios [Lord, Master] Jesus, even as you received from us how it is necessary to walk and to please Theos [Father God] in order that you superabound the more. For you know what commands we gave to you via the Kurios Jesus. For this is the thelema [determination, choice, decision, decree] of Theos -- your purification: for you to abstain from porneia [whoring, incest, non-marital sexual intercourse], for each one of you knows how to possess his own vessel [body] in hagiasmos [holiness, purity] and time [value, esteem], not in passion of forbidden desire as the ethnoi [nations, races, non-Jews, gentiles] not knowing Theos. Not shall you climb over or be covetous of your brother in a deed because the Kurios is the Ekdikos concerning all these as indeed we earnestly testified and forewarned you. For Theos not called us to impurity, but in hagiasmos [holiness, purity]. So those despising you, not despise man but Theos, the One giving His Hagios [Holy, Sacred, Consecrated] Pneuma [Breath, Spirit, Ghost] to You.

2nd Thessalonians 1.3: We ought always to eucharistein [gratefully give thanks] to Theos concerning you, brothers, as it is due because your pistis [faith, reliance] exceedingly grows and multiplies the agape [unconditional love] of each and every one of you to one another, so much so as for us to boast ourselves in you in [among] the ekklesiai [assemblies, churches] of Theos for your endurance [constancy] and pistis [faith, reliance] in all your stress that you endure. A clear indication of the dikaios [equitable, just, right] kriseths [decision, judgment rendered, verdict] of Theos is for you to be deemed entirely deserving of the Kingdom of Theos (for which, indeed, you suffer); since it’s a dikaios act from beside Theos to requite to those squeezing you, stress, and to you (those being squeezed) rest, with us, at the revelation of our Kurios Jesus from ouranos [the sky, the heavens] with aggeloi [messengers, angels] of His dunamis [force, power] in flaming fire, giving full ekdikesin to those not knowing Theos and to those not heeding the euaggelion [good news, gospel, evangel] of our Kurios Jesus, the Christos [Anointed One, Messiah, Christ]. They will pay the penalty (eternal death away from the face of the Kurios and away from the glory of His might), when He comes to be glorified in His hagioi [holy ones, sacred ones, consecrated ones, saints] and to be admired in all those pisteuousin [putting their faith in] Jesus in that Day. This is because you episteurthe [put your faith] in our testimony to you. Indeed, we constantly proseuchometh [humbly beg God, pray] concerning you that you may be deemed suitable for the calling of our Theos and may fulfill every satisfaction of goodness and work of pistis in dunamis such that the name of our Kurios Jesus, the Christos, may be glorified in you and you in Him down to the charis [graciousness] of our Theos and Kurios Jesus, the Christos.

2nd Corinthians 7.8: For I see that that letter (even if indeed it grieved you for an hour) has caused change. Now, I am joyful, not that you were grieved, conversely, that you were grieved to metanoian [thinking differently, turning about 180 degrees, repenting]. For you grieved down to the choice of Theos in order that you might not be injured in even one word emergent from me. For sadness down to the choice of Theos works metanoian to irrevocable soterian [rescue, safety, salvation] but worldly sadness fully works out death. Notice this same issue (for you to be grieved down to the choice of Theos), how much it fully worked out (in you) spouden [speed, alacrity, eagerness], also apologian [a plea, giving an account, a defense], also indignation, also fear, also a longing, also zelon [heat, zeal, ardor], also ekdikesin! In all you present yourselves clean of this deed [incest]. Therefore, even if I wrote to you, it was not for the one being unjust nor for the one being wronged, conversely, it was because of my spouden [speed, alacrity, eagerness] toward you before the face of Theos.

2nd Corinthians 10: I myself, Paul, parakalo you via the gentleness and appropriateness of the Christou. I who face to face indeed am lowly in [among] you but courageous toward you when absent. But I request that, when I am near to you, I may be not courageous with confidence which I estimate to be bold over some, those regarding me as walking down to flesh. Although walking in flesh, I not war down to flesh for the implements of my soldiering are not fleshly, conversely, dunata [forceful, powerful] to Theos toward demolishing castles [strongholds], demolishing imaginations and every elevated thing exalting itself down to [against] the knowledge of Theos and making captive the whole perception in attentive hearkening to the Christou and being ready ekdikesai all inattention [disobedience], whenever your attentive hearkening is made replete [complete].

Romans 12.14: Elulogeite [Speak well of, Praise, Bless] those pursuing [persecuting] you; elulogeite and not put a curse upon them. Rejoice with the rejoicing and wail with the wailing. Have the same interest into all of one another, not only having interest in the lofty; conversely, yielding to the lowly. Not be caused to be wise near yourselves [in your own estimation]. Give back to no one kakon [worthless] for kakou [worthless]. Promote the kala [beautiful, virtuous] before all men. If possible (emergent from yourselves), be peaceable to all men. Not ekdikountes [vindicating, getting retribution, punishing] yourselves, agapetoi [unconditionally beloved]; conversely, give place [space, room] for the orge [violent passion, fury, rage, wrath] of Theos for it has been written, “Ekdikesis belongs to Me. I will repay,” says the Kurios.

DEUTERONOMY 32.35 [YHWH] “... Shillem [requital, recompense] belongs to Me.”

Romans 13: Let every psuche [soul, life, psyche, ego] be subordinate [subject] to superior [higher] authorities for there isn’t authority if not from Theos but the existing authorities exist due to having been arranged [instituted] under Theos. So too, the one opposing authority opposes the arrangement [institution] of Theos and those having opposed Him will receive a krima [decision, judgment rendered, verdict] to themselves. Rulers aren’t a cause of fears to those doing good works, but they are to the kakon [worthless]. Now, do you want not to fear authority? Do good and you will have praise emergent from the same for he is a servant of Theos for good to you but in case you do kakon, do fear! for he not eike [idly, vainly] wears the sword for he is a servant of Theos, an ekdikos [punisher, avenger] to orgen of the one practicing kakon. Because of this, it is necessary to be in subjection, not merely because of orgen, conversely, because of conscience.

Luke 18: Now, He also told to them a parable toward it being necessary (at all times) to proseuchesthai and not to weaken, saying,

“There was a certain judge in a city, not fearing Theos and not respecting man. Now, there was a widow in that city, and she came to him saying, ‘Ekdikeson [Vindicate] me from my adversary.’ And for a time, he ethelesen [chose, decided] not to do so but after these events, he said within himself, ‘If I not even fear Theos and not respect man, yet via [because] this widow affords me pain, I will ekdikeso her in order that coming, she not subdue me in the end.’”

Now, the Kurios said,

“Hear what the unjust judge says! Now, not (in no way) would [wouldn’t] our just Theos do the ekdikesin [vindicating] of His chosen (those shouting to Him for help day and night) and being makrothumon [forbearing, patiently restraining] over them? I say to you that (in haste) He will do the ekdikesin of them. Yet the Son of Man coming, will He then find persistence in pistin on the earth?”

Luke 21.20: “Now, when you see Jerusalem being encircled by a camping ground of troops, then know that its pillaging has been caused to be. Then, let those in Judea flee into the mountains and let those in the middle of it leave and not let those in the outside regions enter into it because these days of ekdikeseos [vindication, retribution, punishment] are to be fulfilled; that is all the things having been written. But woe in [to] the pregnant women and those nursing in those days for megale stress will be upon the earth and orge [violent passion, fury, rage, wrath] in [to] this people and they will fall by the mouth of the knife and will be made led captive into all the ethne, and Jerusalem will be trampled under the ethnoi until the times of the ethnon are fulfilled.”

Acts 7.24: 7.24 “And seeing one being wronged, he [Moses] defended him and did ekdikesin for the one being beaten down, striking the Egyptian. Now, he supposed that his brothers understood that Theos would give deliverance to them via his hand, but they not understood.

Hebrews 10.26: For if we are voluntarily [willfully] hamartanonton [missing the mark or goal; erring, offending, sinning], after receiving the full knowledge of the truth, no more thusia [sacrifice] concerning hamartion remains but some awful edoche [expectation] of kriseos [accusation, condemnation, judgment] and hot fire being about to consume the adversaries. Anyone, disregarding the Law of Moses, dies without oiktirmon [pity] upon the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much worse punishment (think you?) will he be thought worthy to receive, having trampled the Son of Theos and having deemed common the blood of the covenant by which he hegiasthe [was made holy, sanctified] and having insulted the Hagios Pneuma of charitos [graciousness]? For we know the One having said, “Ekdikesis [Vindication, Retribution, Punishment] is to Me. I will repay,” says the Kurios and again, “The Kurios krinei [will distinguish, will decide, will judge, will put on trial] His people.”

1st Peter 2.13: Accordingly, subordinate yourselves (via the Kuriou) to all men of the hierarchy; whether to a king as being superior; whether to leaders [governors] as having been sent via him; (in fact) ekdikesin to the kakopoion [worthless doer] but praise to well-doers because such is the thelema [determination, choice, decision, decree] of Theos. Muzzle the ignorance of mindless men by doing good. Be as free yet not holding freedom as a covering for kakias [worthlessness], yet as slaves of Theos. Timesate [value, esteem, revere] all. Agapate the brotherhood. Fear Theos. Timate the King.

KINGDOM of GOD

 KINGDOM OF GOD

Been musing on the Kingdom for a long time. Have begun to remind myself, whenever my imp plants negative thoughts, that I am living in the Kingdom.

Almost Greek: [Words in italics are translator’s additions.]

1st Corinthians 4.18: While I wasn’t expected to be coming toward you now, some were puffed up. But shortly I will come to you (if the Kurios thelese [determines, chooses, decides, decrees]) and I won’t know the logos [word] of those having been puffed up, conversely, the [their] dunamei [forces, powers, works of power]. For the Kingdom of Theos not consists in logos, conversely, in dunamei. What do you want? that I come to you with a stick or in agape [unconditional love] and a pneuma [breath, spirit] of gentleness?

Colossians 1.9: Via this [From the day we heard], we also don’t pause [stop] proseuchomenoi [humbly begging of God, praying] to Theos over you and asking that you be made replete [complete] in recognition of His thelematos in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. And that you be made to walk appropriately of the Kuriou [Lord, Master], compliant to all in every good work; that you are being fertile and growing into the recognition of Theos in all dunamei, being empowered [enabled] down [according] to the great vigor of His glory to all a cheerful endurance and makrothumian [forbearing, patiently restraining]; that you amidst charas [cheerfulness, calm delight, joy] eucharistountes [are gratefully giving thanks] to the Father to qualify us to the portion of the lot of the hagion [holy, sacred, consecrated ones; saints] in the Light. He Who rescued us emergent from the authority of shadiness and transferred us into the Kingdom of the Son of His agapes. He in Whom we have redemption via His blood; the freedom of [from] hamartion [misses of the mark or goal; errors, offenses, sins]. Jesus, Who is the eikon [image, likeness, statue, icon] of the invisible Theos, the firstborn of all creation because in Him all was created: the things in the ouranois [skys, heavens] and the things upon the earth; the seen [visible] and the invisible, whether thrones or lordships or rank or authorities. All has been created via Him and to Him and He IS before the birth of the whole of creation and all is presented in Him. Also, He is the Head of the somatos [body], the ekklesias [assembly, church]. He, Who is the beginning, firstborn emergent from dead in order that He may be caused to be in first place in all; because in Him all repletion [completion] was approved to dwell and via Him to completely reconcile all to Himself [Father], making peace via the blood of His stake [cross] via Him; whether the things upon the earth or the things in the ouranois.

Luke 11.16: But others, testing Him, were seeking a semeion [sign, indication] from beside Him emergent from Ouranou [Heaven] but He (knowing their thoughts) said to them,

“Every kingdom divided over itself is laid waste and a house over [against] a house falls. Now, if also Satanas is divided over himself, how shall his kingdom stand? You say that in Beelzeboul I AM ejecting the demons but if I eject the demons in Beelzeboul, in what do your sons eject demons? Via this, they shall be your judges. But if in the finger of Theos, I eject the demons, then the Kingdom of Theos has arrived upon you.

Luke 17.20: Now, being asked by the Pharisees, at what time comes the Kingdom of Theos? He answered them and said,

“The Kingdom of Theos not comes amidst viewing, neither will they say LO! in this same place nor LO! there for the Kingdom of Theos is INSIDE you!”

Mark 1.14: Now, after John the Baptizer was surrendered, Jesus came into Galilee kerusson [proclaiming, heralding] the euaggelion [good news, gospel, evangel] of the Kingdom of Theos and saying,

“The time has been made replete [complete] and the Kingdom of Theos approaches. Metanoeite [Think differently, turnabout 1800, repent] and pisteuete [have reliance, have faith] in the euaggelio.”

Mark 10.13: And they brought Him children in order that He might touch them but the mathetai [learners, pupils, disciples] admonished those bringing them. But seeing this, Jesus was indignant, and He said to them,

“Aphete [Allow] the children to come to Me and do not estop them for of these is the Kingdom of Theos. Amen! I say to you, whoever not receives the Kingdom of Theos in the same way as a child, not (in no way) may he enter into it.”

Matthew 3: Now, came John the Baptistes [Baptizer], kerusson in the wastelands of Judea and saying,

“Metanoeite! for the Kingdom of the Ouranon has arrived.”

Matthew 10: And having summoned us twelve mathetas [learners, pupils, disciples], He gave us authority over impure pneumaton [spirits], so as to eject them and to heal every malady and every weakness. Now, the names of these twelve apostolon [delegates, ambassadors, apostles] are:

First, Simon (who is called Rock) and Andrew (his brother) Bar Jona; James Bar Zebedee and his brother John; Philip; Nathanael Bar Tolmai; Thomas; Matthew the tax collector [That’s me, and my brother], James Bar Alphaeus; and Judas surnamed Lebbeus [in Hebrew] who was called by his Latin surname Thaddaeus [called in American: “Jude”]; Simon the Kananites [“Zealous”]; and Judas Bar Simeon the Iscariot who also surrendered Him. These twelve Jesus set apart [sent out], having commanded us, saying,

“Not go into the road of the ethnon [nations, races, non-Jews, gentiles] and not enter a city of the Samaritans but travel toward the perishing sheep of the House of Israel. And traveling, kerussete [proclaim, herald], saying that the Kingdom of the Ouranon has arrived.

John 3: There was a man (emergent from the Pharisees) named Nicodemus [“The People is Victor”], who was a chief of the Jews [member of the Sanhedrin]. He came to Jesus by night and said to Him,

“Rabbi [Teacher, Master]! we know that You have come from Theos as a Teacher for not even one man can do these semeia (which You do) unless Theos is with Him.”

Jesus answered him,

“Amen! Amen! I say to you, if one doesn’t receive birth from above, he is unable to perceive the Kingdom of Theos.”

Nicodemus said to Him,

“How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot reenter into his mother’s womb and be born a second time.”

Jesus answered,

“Amen! Amen! I say to you, if one doesn’t receive birth both emergent from water [physically] and from the Hagios Pneuma [spiritually], he isn’t able to enter into the Kingdom of Theos. That receiving birth from flesh is flesh; that receiving birth from the Hagios Pneuma is pneuma [spirit]. Don’t marvel because I told you, ‘You must receive birth from above.’ The Hagios Pneuma breathes where He thelei and although you hear His phone [sound, tone, noise, voice], you neither know from where He comes nor where He goes. So, it is with everyone who has received birth emergent from the Hagios Pneuma.”

Lesson 124 Amplified -- BIAZO

 BIAZO

American: to force or to crowd oneself into

BIASTES

American: a forcer

This lesson is about the Kingdom of God. Our Lord Jesus, the Christos, says, in Matthew 18.3,

“Amen! I say to you, unless you revert and are caused to be as the children you cannot (by no means) enter into the Kingdom of the Ouranon [Heaven].”

In Luke 17.20,

 He tells the Pharisees,

The Kingdom of Theos not comes amidst viewing; neither will they say LO! in this same place nor LO! there, for the Kingdom of Theos is INSIDE you!”

In the scriptures below He says that the Kingdom of Theos is being entered by force!?

Almost Greek: [Words in italics are translator’s additions.]

Luke 16.14: Now, the Pharisees also heard all these words and being money-lovers, they scoffed at Him. And He said to them,

“You are dikaiountes [justifying] yourselves before the faces of men but Theos knows your hearts because the lofty in men is an abomination before the face of Theos. The Law and the Prophets [Old Testament] was preached up until John Bar Zekaryahuw. From then on, the Kingdom of Theos is being euaggelizetai [good news being announced, being evangelized] and all are biazetai [forcing themselves into, crowding into] it. But it is easier for the ouranon [heavens, sky] and the earth to pass away than for one keraian [the dot of an “i”] to fall.”

[This may be a condemnation of the editing and additions to the five “Books of Moses” and “The Books of the Prophets” that had been practiced for scores of years in the copying of texts by the grammateis [writers, recorders, scribes, secretaries].]

Matthew 11.11: [Jesus speaking] “Amen! I say to you, there hasn’t arisen (in those born of gunaikon [a woman]) one greater than John the Baptistou but the mikroteros [smallest, least] in the Kingdom of the Ouranon is greater than he is. Now, from the days of John the Baptistou (until just now) the Kingdom of the Ouranon is biazetai [being entered by force or crowding] and the biastai [forcers] seize it. For all The Law and the Prophets proepheteousan [before told, prophesied] until John and If you choose to receive this, he is Elijah! He who was expected to come! He having ears to hear, let him hear! But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like little boys sitting down in the marketplace, prosphonousi [sounding towards, shouting to] their comrades and saying, ‘We played the flute to you, and you didn’t dance! We bewailed to you, and you didn’t chop [beat the breast in grief].’ For John came neither eating nor drinking and they say, ‘He has a daimonion [demonic being, demon].’ And the Son of Man came, both eating and imbibing, and they say, ‘LO! a gluttonous Man and a wine drinker; a philos [friend] of tax collectors and hamartolon [missers or the mark or goal, those erring, offenders, sinners].’ And wisdom is edikaiothe [justified, vindicated] from her children.”

Lesson 123 Amplified -- AGONIA

 AGONIA

American: a struggle, anguish, agony

Hebrew Aramaic: makobah

Just prior to Jesus’ being arrested by the Temple Police, on the mountain called Olivet [of Olives], and seeing his atrocious death before Him, he was in agonia. He prayed to his Father Theos.

Almost Greek: [Words in italics are translator’s additions.]

Luke 22.39: And going forth, as usual He went down to the Mount of Olives. Now, the mathetai [learners, pupils, disciples] also followed Him. Now, coming upon the place, He said to them,

“Proseuchesthe [humbly beg God, pray] that you will not enter into testing.”

And He was withdrawn from them about a stone’s throw and placing His knees on the ground, He proseucheto, saying,

“Father, if You boulei [will, resolve, intend], carry away this cup off [from] Me. But not My thelema [determination, choice, decision, decree], conversely Your thelema be caused to be.”

Now, they stared with wide open eyes upon an aggelos [messenger, angel] from Ouranou [Heaven] strengthening Him. And being caused to be in agonia, He more intently proseucheto. Now, His sweat was caused to be as if clots of blood falling down upon the earth. And standing up from proseuches (coming toward His mathetas), He found them fallen asleep (from their grief) and said to them,

“Why do you sleep? Standing up, proseuchesthe in order that you not enter into testing.”

ISAIAH 53.1: Who has supported our report? and to whom is the arm of YHWH exposed? For He comes up as a sprout in His face and as a root out of parched earth. Not is to Him a form not is to Him magnificence that we should see and not an appearance that we should delight in Him. He was disdained and abandoned by men; a man of makobah [anguish, affliction] and knowing maladies and as men hiding faces from Him (being disdained) and they not value Him. He has firmly borne our maladies and He has carried our makobah.

1st Thessalonians 2: For you yourselves know our entrance to you, brothers, that it hasn’t been empty. Even though having undergone hardship before in Philippi, Macedonia as you know, we were [I was] bold in our Theos to speak to you the euaggelion [good news, gospel, evangel] of Theos in much agonia. For our paraklesis [imploration, urging, exhortation, encouragement, consolation] wasn’t of error nor of impurity nor deceit but as we have been approved by Theos to be entrusted with the euaggelion, so we speak; not as pleasing men but Theos, the One testing our hearts. For neither were we then in logos of flattery (as you know) not with motive of avarice (Theos is Witness) nor seeking glory from men (neither from you nor from others) being able to be burdened as apostoloi [delegates, ambassadors, apostles] of the Christos. We were gentle in your midst as a nurse brooding her own children. Longing for you so and having such warm feelings for you, I shared with you not only the euaggelion of Theos but also my own psuche [soul, life, psyche, ego] because you have been caused to be agapetoi [unconditionally beloved] to me.

GOD FOR CHILDREN

Dear Aliona,

I have been thinking about how I might explain to you who God is. When we say “God”, we mean our Father in Heaven. Father God created everything that exists: our world and everything that is alive in it, the sun and the planets in our Solar System, our galaxy the Milky Way, and the entire universe that we see with telescopes in outer space. Father God does not need a physical body. He is a spirit being.

Father God gave birth to His only Son, Jesus. At first, Jesus was also a spirit being. Later Jesus was born as a human being. He grew up in Nazareth in the northern part of what is now Palestine. When he reached the age of thirty-three, he went to be baptized in the Jordan river by John the Baptist. As He came up out of the river, the Holy Spirit of Father God came down from Heaven and came into Him.

The Holy Spirit is a part of Father God that He sent to our earth to live within people. Jesus, as a man, is the first human ever to receive the Holy Spirit. After He arose into Heaven, Father began giving the Holy Spirit to people on the earth who put their faith into Jesus as their Rescuer or Savior from going to Hell after they die.

Now, here is the most difficult concept for us to understand. Father God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are ONE! They are called the Trinty. Oneness means they constantly are of one mind. They think alike. Father God is the Boss. Jesus and the Holy Spirit do whatever He tells them to do. Father has given Jesus the entire earth and its people as His kingdom. He is our King, our Master, and our Lord.

I want to see you soon and talk about God with you. Surely you have a lot of questions to ask of me.

I love you, Ali,

Poppi

GOD

 GOD

Been pondering about telling my granddaughter about the Trinty. Heard that she once said,

“Why don’t they just say Jesus?”

To me the differences among Them are primarily functional.

-----

Father God is the originator, creator, of all that exists. Before anything was, He is. Americans call Him “God”. Hebrews called Him “Yahweh”. Greeks call him “Theos. Jesus called Him Father and….

Mark 15.33: It now being caused to be the sixth hour [noon], shadiness [pitch black darkness] was caused to be over the whole land until the ninth hour [3 PM]. And at the ninth hour, Jesus hallooed [cried out] with megale [huge, great] phone [sound, voice],

“Elio! Elio! Lama sabachthani?”

Which methermeneuomenon [is being translated] from Hebrew Aramaic/Chaldee into Greek:

“O My Theos! O My Theos! To what did You abandon Me?”

-----

Father God spontaneously created or gave birth to the second member of the Trinty, His only Son.

Hebrews 5.5: So also, the Christos [Mashiyach] not glorified Himself to be caused to be a high priest but the One speaking to Him did so:

“YOU ARE My Son! Today I gegeneka [have created, have given birth to] You.”

PSALM 2.7 I will declare the statue of YHWH: He said to Me,

“YOU ARE My beloved Son! I yalad [have given birth to] You today.”

He is first mentioned in the Old Testament or Old Blood Covenant as Melchizedek.

GENESIS 14.18: After his [Abram’s] return from nakah [striking, slaughtering] of Chedorllaomer (and the kings with him) to the valley of Shaveh, Melchizedek (King of Salem) brought out bread and wine; He was [is] a priest to the El [God] on High.

{Salem is a transliteration (by King James’ translators) of the Hebrew Shalom

 [safety, peace, health, happiness, prosperity, friendship]}

PSALM 110.4: YHWH has spoken and won’t repent,

“YOU ARE a priest forever, according to the order of Melchizedek.”

Functionally, Jesus is God in the form of man [mankind].

Luke 1:30: the aggelos Gabriel said to her,

“Not fear, Maryam, for you have found charin [graciousness] from beside Theos and LO! you will conceive in your stomach [womb] and bear a son and you will call his name Jesus. The same will be megas [big, large, huge, great] and will be called the Son of the Highest. And the Kurios [Lord, Master] Theos will give to Him the throne of His forefather David and He will rule over the house of Jacob to the ages and there won’t be an end to His royalty.”

Father God being Spirit, we are unable to perceive Him. Jesus is the image of the Father. When we look upon Jesus, we see Father in a way we can perceive.

John 14.6: Jesus says to him,

“I AM THE WAY and the TRUTH and the LIFE. Not even one person comes to the Father except via Me. If you had known Me, you also would have known My Father and from now on you DO know Him and have seen Him.”

Philip says to Him,

“Kurie! show us the Father and it satisfies us.”

Jesus says to him,

“AM I so long a time with you, Philip and still you not know Me? The one seeing Me HAS SEEN the Father.

Jesus’ suffering on the cross was, to people, the visible suffering of Father and of Jesus, together, to reconcile sinful humans to Him.

-----

The third person of the Trinity is the Holy Spirit. He is the indwelling God. Father set aside a portion of Himself to dwell within everyone who is rescued or saved through Jesus’ suffering and death. Being from Father God, He is “holy”. Since Father God is spirit, He is also “spirit”. He is, then, called the Holy Spirit, or historically in America, the Holy Ghost.

Acts 2: Now, in the fulfilling of the Day of Pentekostes [Hebrew Feast of Pentecost], they were all unanimous at the same place. Unexpectedly emergent from the ouranou [sky] was an echos [loud noise], just as borne of a violent wind, and filled up the whole dwelling where they were sitting. Themselves [They] stared wide-eyed at thoroughly partitioned tongues as of fire. It also sat upon each one of them and they were all filled of the Hagios Pneuma and began to utter words in different glossais [tongues, languages], just as the Pneuma gave to them to enunciate.

What does the Holy Spirit do for the person He inhabits? For those being granted this endowment, He prays to Father in a language which the Christian he inhabits does not know. This prayer is not limited to the person’s understanding, or mind, because he does not understand the language. It may be said that these prayers are from deep in one’s spirit, perhaps about a need of which the person is unaware.

As a person becomes accustomed to “praying in the Spirit”, that one may do so when faced with a sudden serious event; for example, viewing a traffic accident; when one may be unsure of what to ask of the Father.

Some sense the need to “pray in the Spirit” when suddenly feeling depressed. Their prayer quickly lifts the depression, and they assume that they have prayed for someone else’s need.

Is “praying in the Spirit” controlled by the person doing so? Absolutely! Some describe themselves as similar to an AM/FM radio. In “AM”, one prays with one’s mind. In “FM”, one prays through the ministry of the Holy Spirit. In either case, the person controls which mode is in operation.

Lesson 122 Amplified -- ENERGIA

 ENERGIA

American: activity, efficiency, energy

ENERGEO

American: to be active, to be efficient, to be energetic

Reading the New Blood Covenant book of James, we are reminded that the Christian’s life is not to be static, but dynamic. We are to be doing, not merely studying, yet those who are disabled and homebound may still engage in the highest activity in the Kingdom of Theos; praying.

Almost Greek: [Words in italics are translator’s additions.]

2nd Thessalonians 2.5: Don't you remember that I told you these things while I was still with you? And now, you know that one is holding down his being revealed until his set time. For the musterion [secret, mystery] of anomias [lawlessness] is already energeitai [active]. Now, he is merely holding him down until it comes into being emergent from the middle. Then the anomos [lawless one] will be revealed, whom the Kurios will destroy by the pneumati [breaths, spirits] of His mouth and katargesei [render him entirely idle or useless] by the manifestation of Himself at His return; of whom [him, the lawless one] is the parousia [coming] down of the energeian of Satanas in all dunamis [force, power] of pseudes [false, deceitful, pseudo] semeia [signs, indications] and terasi [wonders] and with all unjust delusions in the lost because they not received the agape of the truth, whereby they might sothenai [be made safe, be saved]. Because of their rejection of the truth, Theos will send to them fraudulent energeian for them to pisteusai [to put their faith in], pseudes [falsehoods, lies] in order that all those not pisteusantes in the truth but having approved injustice, may be condemned.

Colossians 1.24: Now, I rejoice in my sufferings over you and supplement the deficit of the stresses of the Christou in my flesh over His somatos [body], which is the ekklesia [assembly, church] of which I was caused to be a servant down to administration from Theos. That administration was given to me to [for] you, to make replete the Logos [Word] of Theos the musterion having been kept from the ages [beginning of time] and from the generations but now was revealed to His hagios [holy, sacred, consecrated ones; saints] to whom Theos ethelesen [determines, chooses, decides, decrees] to make known what is the wealth of the glory of this musterion in the ethnesin [nations, non-Jews, gentiles]: the Hagios Pneuma, Who is the Christos [Anointed One, Messiah, Christ] inside of you, the elpis [expectation, hope] of glory. We kataggellomen [promulgate, publish, officially make known] Him, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom in order that we may stand beside [present] every man complete in Jesus, the Christo, to [for] which I also labor, competing [struggling] down to His energeian, the One energoumenen [active, efficient, energetic] in me in dunamei [force, power, works of power].

Colossians 2.8: Watch out lest you shall be seducing anyone via philosophy [sophistry] and empty delusion down to the traditions of men (down to the principles of the kosmou [universe, world, cosmos]) and not down to the Christon, for in Him resides all the repletion of somatikos Theotetos [bodily Deity]. You are in Him (having been made replete), Who is the Head of all rank and authority. In Him you were also circumcised with a not-made-by-hands circumcision in the divestment of the somatos of hamartion  [body of sin] of the flesh. In the circumcision of the Christou, you were co-buried with Him in baptismati; in Whom you also were roused from death via pisteos of the energeias of Theos awakening Him emergent from dead. You, being dead in offenses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He [Father] reanimated you with Him [Jesus], chapisamenos [having granted as a favor, having forgiven] you all the offenses, blotting out the transcribed-down-to-us in dogma [laws, statutes, decrees] (which were covertly contrary to us), Father has lifted it emergent from the midst of us, nailing it to the stake [cross]. Having totally stripped the ranks and the authorities, He [Father] made a public display of them, having triumphed over them in Him [Jesus].

Philippians 3.17: Brothers! be fellow imitators of me and observe those walking thus, just as you have a tupon [a die set, a shaper, a model, a type] in me. For there are walking all around those of whom I often told you and now tell you (even weeping), the echthrous [haters] of the stake of the Christou whose end is destruction; whose belly is their theos [god] and who glory in their shame; who think on the earthly. For our citizenship is in Ouranois [Heavens]. Emergent from there, we also fully expect a Sotera [Deliverer, Savior] the Kuriou [Lord, Master] Jesus, the Christou, Who will transfigure [transform] our soma of humiliation into it being caused to be conformed [similar] to the somati of His glory down to the energeian of His capability, even to subordinate everything to Himself.
