Lesson 45 Amplified – PROPHETEIA

PROPHETEIA

American: inspired speech, prophesy

PROPHETEUO

American: before tell, speak under inspiration

singular: PROPHETES -- plural: PROPHETAI

American singular: before teller, prophet -- plural: before tellers, prophets

PROPHETIKOS

American: prophetic

Paul considers this class of words to be of paramount importance. Why? Because we who dwell within the Kingdom of Theos [Father God] wait, with bated breath, to hear a fresh rhema [utterance] from Theos.

Almost Greek:(Words in italics are translator’s additions.)

1st Thessalonians 5.12: Brothers! We ask you eidenai [know, perceive] those laboring among you (presiding over you in the Kurios, admonishing you) and eleistha [deem, consider, esteem] them most exceedingly in agape because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves! We parakaloumen [call near, invite, urge, exhort, encourage] you, brothers, noutheteite [put in mind, caution, warn] the insubordinate, console the faint-hearted, care for the weak, be longsuffering toward all. See that NOT even one person returns kakon [worthless] for kakou [worthless] to anyone but always pursue the good both toward one another and toward all. Always rejoice! Continually proseuchesthe [humbly beg God, pray]! Eucharisteite [Gratefully give thanks] in all for this is the thelema [determination, choice, decision, decree] of Theos (in Jesus, the Christos [Anointed One, Messiah, Christ]) to you. Don’t quench the Hagios Pneuma! Don’t despise propheteia! Test everything; firmly hold the kalos [beautiful, virtuous]; keep back from every form of ponerou [hurtful].

Romans 16.25: Now, to the One capable of sterichan [securely setting, making one steadfast], down to my euaggelion [good news, gospel, evangel] and the kerugma [proclamation] of Jesus, the Christou, down to the revelation of the musteriou [secrets, mysteries], having been kept secret for eternal past ages but now revealed via prophetikon writings, made known down to the command of the eternal Theos, to obedience of pisteos to all the ethne, [nations, races, non-Jews, Gentiles] the sole wise Theos; to Whom (via Jesus, the Christou) be glory to the ages. Amen!

Acts 2.14: But Rock (standing with the eleven) raised up his phonen [sound, tone, noise, voice] and plainly enunciated [declared] to them, “Men! Jews! and all those inhabiting Jerusalem, let this be known to you and take into your ear [listen to] my rhemata [utterance]. For these men aren’t intoxicated as you assume for it is merely the third hour of the day [9 AM]. But this is THAT even being spoken via the prophetou Joel: ‘And it shall be in the final days,’ says Theos, ‘I will pour forth (from My Pneuma) upon all flesh and your sons and daughters propheteusousin [will before tell, will speak under inspiration, will prophesy] and your youths will stare (wide-eyed) at visions and your elders will dream dreams. And in those days (upon My male slaves and upon My female slaves), I will pour forth from My Pneuma and they also propheteusousi. And I will give terata [wonders, miracles] in the ourano [sky, heavens] above and semeia [signs, indications] upon the earth below; blood and fire and mist of smoke. The sunshine will be changed to shadowiness [an eclipse] and the moon into blood [an eclipse] prior to the coming of the megalen [big, large, huge, great] and notable Day of the Kuriou. And it shall be that all (whoever epikalesetai [calls out to, appeals to, invokes] the name [authority] of the Kuriou) sothesetai [will be rescued, will be saved].’”

JOEL 2.28: “… afterward It will be, I will pour forth My Ruwach [Pneuma] upon all flesh. Your sons and your daughters will naba [prophetueo]. Your old will dream dreams. Your youths will see visions. And in those days (on both My male slaves and My female slaves), I will pour forth My Ruwach. I will give mopheth [terata] in the sky and on the earth; blood and fire and timarah [pillars, columns] of smoke. The sun will be turned over to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and awesome Day of YHWH. For it will be that all who qara [epikalesetai: call out to, appeal to, invoke] the name of YHWH will malat [be smooth, slippery, escape] for in Mount Tsijon [Zion] and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance,” as YHWH has said, “and deliverance among the survivors to whom YHWH shall call out.”

Acts 21.8: And having entered the house of Philip the Euaggelistou [preacher of the good news; evangelist], the same being emergent from [one of] the seven original diakonoi [waiters, attendants, servants, deacons], we stayed near [with] the same. Now, to this one were four unmarried daughters who propheteuousai [were before tellers, were speaking under inspiration, were prophesying]. Now, we staying some more days, a certain prophetes came down from Judea, by name Agabus. And coming toward us and requesting Paul’s belt, binding both his hands and his feet, he said, “These words says the Hagios Pneuma, ‘In Jerusalem, the same way will the Judaeans bind the man whose belt this is and will surrender him into the hands of the ethnon.’” Now, when we heard these words, both we and the residents begged the same [Paul] not to go up into Jerusalem.

2nd Peter 1.18: We heard this phone being borne emergent from Ouranou [Heaven], being with Him in the hagio mountain [Mount of Olives]. We hold more firmly the prophetikon logon [word] to which you do well to pay attention as to a light shining in a murky place until that day breaks through [dawns] and the Phosphorus [Light-Bearer] is caused to arise in your hearts, knowing (first of all) that NO propheteia of Graphes [Scripture, Old Testament] came into being by self-interpretation. For never by the thelemati of man was propheteia borne but it was being borne by the Hagios Pneuma via Whom the hagioi men of Theos spoke.

Matthew 10.40: [Jesus speaking] He, receiving you, receives Me and he receiving Me receives the One sending out Me. He, receiving a propheten, in the name of a propheten will receive the wages of a propheten. And he, receiving a dikaion [equitable, just, right] one in the name of a dikaion one, will receive the wages of a dikaion one. And whoever furnishes drink to one of these mikron [small, little, tiny, micro] ones (merely a cup of cold water) in the name of a mathetou [learner, pupil, disciple], Amen! I say to you, not (in no way) will he utterly destroy his wages.”
