Lesson 7 Amplified -- PARAKLETOS

PARAKLETOS

intercessor, consoler, advocate

PARAKLETOS

Holy Spirit, Holy Ghost

As Jesus tells the twelve disciples the details of His departure from this world, He informs them of Father God’s imminent, gracious gift to all who put their faith in Him (Jesus) for their salvation, the Holy Spirit.

Almost Greek: [Words in italics are translator’s additions.]

John 14.16: Jesus speaking, “I will petition the Father and He will give you another parakleton in order that He [Holy Spirit] may eternally abide with you. He is the Pneuma of Truth, Whom the kosmos [universe, world, cosmos] isn’t able to receive, because it isn’t a spectator of Him nor knows Him. But you know Him because He abides WITH you and will be IN you. I won't leave you as orphans! I AM coming to you. After a mikron [little while] the kosmous no longer sees Me. But you DO see Me! Because I live, you also will live. In that day, you will know that I AM in My Father and you in ME and I in YOU. He, having My commands and keeping them, that one is the one egapon [unconditionally loving] Me and He, egapon Me, agapethesetai [will be unconditionally loved] by My Father and I agapeso him and I will reveal Myself to him.”

John 14.25: Jesus speaking, “I have spoken these words to you while abiding with you, but the Parakletos (the Hagios Pneuma) Whom Father will send in My name [authority], that One will teach you everything and remind you of all that I told you. Shalom [safety, peace, health, happiness, prosperity, friendship] I leave to you; not as the kosmos gives, do I give to you. Not let your hearts be agitated nor let it [them] be fearful. You heard that I told you. I will disappear and I will come to you. If you egapate Me, you would have rejoiced because I said, ‘I AM going to the Father’ for My Father is greater than I. Now I have told you before it happens, in order that when it happens, you pisteusete [will have faith]. I won't speak with you much longer, for the ruler of this kosmou is coming and he hasn't even one thing in Me, but in order that the kosmous may know that I agape Father and as Father commanded Me, so I must do. Arise! Let us go from here.”

John 15.26: Jesus speaking “When the Parakletos comes (Whom I will send to you from the Father, the Pneuma of Truth Who proceeds from Father), that One will testify concerning Me. You also must testify because you are with Me from the beginning.”

John 16: 16. “These truths I have spoken in order that you not skandalisthete [may be tripped, entrapped, scandalized]. They will make you outcasts from the synagogue and an hour comes that everyone will think that killing you is a service to bear before Theos. They will do these things to you because they not knew Father nor Me. These truths I have spoken to you in order that when the hour [time] comes, you may recall that I told them to you. I not said these truths to you emergent from the first because then I was with you, but now, I AM going to the One sending Me and not one emergent from you asks Me, ‘Where are You going?’ But because I have said these truths to you, grief has filled your hearts, but (I tell you the truth) it is profitable for you that I should go for if I not go away, the Parakletos won't come to you. But if I go, I will send Him to you. Coming, that One will convict the kosmon concerning hamartias [misses of the mark, goal; offenses, sins], dikaiosune [equity, justification, rightness] and judgment: concerning hamartia because they not pisteuousin [put their reliance, put their faith] into Me; concerning dikaiosunes because I AM going to My Father and you no longer see Me; and concerning judgment, because the ruler of this kosmou has been judged. I have many truths to tell you but now you aren't able to bear them, but when that One (the Pneuma of Truth) comes, He will guide you into all the truth. For He won't speak from Himself, but He will speak whatever He hears, and He will announce to you the coming events. That One will glorify Me because He will receive emergent from Mine and will announce this to you. All which Father has is Mine. For this reason, I said that He [Holy Spirit] receives emergent from Mine and will announce this to you. A mikron of time and you aren't spectators of Me and again a mikron and you WILL see Me because I go to Father.”

Lesson 6 Amplified -- PNEUMA

PNEUMA ---- PNEUMAI

American singular: wind, breath, spirit,

American plural: winds, breaths, spirits,

Chaldee singular: ruwach: wind, spirit, consciousness

Hebrew Aramaic singular; neshamah: puff, wind, breath, inspiration

PNEUMA -- RUWACH

Holy Spirit, Holy Ghost

As you see above, in lower case pneuma has a variety of meanings but in upper case, Pneuma and Ruwach both refer to the Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost.

Almost Greek: [Words in italics are translator’s additions.]

Matthew 1.18: Now the birth of Jesus the Christou was as follows: For His mother Mary being promised in marriage to Joseph, before their conjugal union she was found pregnant in her womb; enabled by the Hagios Pneuma. Now Joseph (her man) being dikaios [equitable, just, right] and not wanting to publicly expose her, he privately purposed to fully free her from their marriage. Now while he was pondering these issues, LO! an aggelos [messenger, angel] of the Kuriou (down a dream) was seen by him, saying, “Joseph! not fear to receive Mary as your gunaika [woman, wife] for the One in her womb (begotten emergent from the Hagios Pneuma) is Hagiou [holy, sacred, consecrated]. Now she will give birth to a Son, and you shall call Him by the name Jesus, for He will sose [make safe, save] His people from their hamartion [misses of the mark, goal; offenses, sins].” Now the whole of this was caused to be in order that be fulfilled the words uttered by the Kuriou via the propheton [prophet] Isaiah, saying,

“LO! the maiden [virgin], in her womb will hold and will give birth to a Son and they will call His name Emmanuel [‘God with Us’], which is being translated: ‘God Amidst Us.’”

ISAIAH 7.14: Therefore, the Adonay [Lord, Master] Himself shall give a signal. “LO! a lass [virgin] will be pregnant and give birth to a Son and will call Him by the name Immanuel [‘God with Us’] El [God].”

1.24: And Joseph being fully awakened from sleep, he did just as the aggelos of the Kuriou commanded him and received Mary as his gunaika and didn’t know her sexually until she bore her Son, the First Born. And he called His name Jesus.

Matthew 3.13: Then Jesus arrives (from Galilee, upon the Jordan River) to John, to be baptisthenai [to be immersed, submerged, baptized] by him. But John restrained Him, saying, “I have need to be baptisthenai by You and You come to ME?” But responding, Jesus says, “Put aside your concerns for just now, in this way it is appropriate for us to fulfill all dikaiosunen [equity, justification, rightness].” Then he indulges Him. And being baptistheis, Jesus went up from the water and directly LO! the ouranoi [skies, heavens] were opened and he saw the Hagios Pneuma of Theos descending (as if a dove) and coming down upon Him and LO! a phone [sound, tone, noise, voice] emergent from the ouranon, saying, “This is My Son, the Agapetos [unconditionally Beloved, loved One]! in Whom I approve [delight]!”

4. Then Jesus was led up into the wasteland (by the Hagios Pneuma) to be tested under the diabolou [leader to shame, devil, satyr].

ISAIAH 42.1 [YHWH] “LO! My Servant! I will sustain Him (My selected One) in Whom My Nephesh [Psuche] is pleased! I have given My Godesh [Holy] Ruache upon Him. He will bring forth a verdict to the gowy [ethnoi]. He won’t shriek and won’t lift Himself up and not cause to be heard (outside) His outcry. He won’t burst the cracked reed and not extinguish a dimming flax. He shall bring forth a verdict to truth. He shan’t weaken and not crack apart until He has set a verdict in the earth and the lands shall wait for His law.” Thus, says El [God], YHWH, creating the shamayim [heavens] and stretching them out, pounding out [as malleable metal] the earth and its issue [produce, progeny], giving neshamah to the people upon it and ruache to those walking in it.

Matthew 27.50: And Jesus shrieking again with mega phone, sent forth His Pneuma.

Lesson 5 Amplified -- CHRISTOS

CHRISTOS

American: Anointed One, Messiah, Christ

Hebrew Aramaic: Mashiyach

The American word “Messiah” is a transliteration of the Hebrew Aramaic word “Mashiyach”.

Almost Greek: [Words in italics are translator’s additions.]

Luke 2.8: And in the same territory there were shepherds camping out and keeping guard (in the night) over their flock. And LO! an aggelos [messenger, angel] of the Kuriou stood before them and the glory of the Kuriou illuminated all around them, making it as light as day. And they feared with megan [big, large, huge, great] fear and the aggelos said to them, “Not fear for LO! I euaggelizouai [announce good news] to you of megalen joy which will be to all the people because on the [this] day was born to you a Soter [deliverer, savior] who is the Christos (the Kurios) in the City of David. And this is a sign to you. You will find a baby (having been swathed in burial strips) lying in a manger.” And suddenly there were caused to be (with the aggelos) a throng of the heavenly army praising Theos and saying, “Glory in the Highest [Heaven] to Theos and upon the earth, peace in [among] men of His satisfaction.” And it was caused to be (as the aggelos went off from them into Ouranon [Heaven]) that the men (also the shepherds) said to one another, “Now let us traverse up to Bethlehem and let us see this rhema [word from God] (having been caused to be) which the Kurios has made known to us.” And they speedily came and found out both Mary and Joseph and the Baby lying in a manger. Now seeing, they told abroad the utterance spoken to them about this Child. And all those hearing marveled concerning the words spoken (toward them) through the shepherds.

Luke 2.25: And LO! there was a man (in Jerusalem) whose name was Simeon [“Hearing”] and this man was dikaios [equitable, just, right] and pious, confidently awaiting the solace of Israel. And the Hagios Pneuma was upon him, and it was spoken via oracle to him (through the Hagios Pneuma) that he wasn’t to see death before he sees the Christon of the Kuriou. And he came (in the Hagios Pneuma) into the Temple. And when His parents introduced the Child Jesus into the Temple (they doing down [according] to the custom of The Law concerning Him) and he [Simeon] received Him into his arms and he eulogemene [fine spoke, commended, blessed, praised] Theos and said, “Now fully free your slave, Despota [Despot; absolute ruler], (down to Your rhema), in shalom [safety, peace, health, happiness, prosperity, friendship], because my eyes have seen Your Soterion which [Whom] You prepared down [before] the face of all the peoples; a light to disclosure [revelation] to the ethnon [races, non-Jews, Gentiles] and a glory of Your people Israel.”

ISAIAH 42.6 [YHWH speaking] “... Illumination of gowy [ethnoi], to open blind eyes,”

Luke 4.40: Now the sun sinking [going down], everyone (as many as had feeble ones with motley maladies) led them to Him. Now, He (imposing His hands upon each one of them in turn) healed them. Now, demons issued forth from many, shrieking and saying, “YOU ARE the Christos; the Son of Theos.” And admonishing them, He not permitted them to speak because they knew Him to be the Christon.

Luke 9.18: And it was caused to be (in His proseuchomenon [humbly begging God, praying] alone) that His mathetai [learners, pupils, disciples] were in company with Him and He questioned them, saying, “Whom do the throngs say Me to be?” Now answering, they said, “Some say John Bar Zacharias the Baptizer, but others say Elijah; but others that some prophetes [prophets] of the ancients stood up again.” Now He said to them, “Now Whom do you say Me to be?” Now answering, Rock said, “The Christon of Theos.”

Matthew 16.13: Jesus asking, “Whom do men say Me, the Son of Man, to be?” And they [the apostles] said, “Some say John the Baptistes, but others say Elijah but still others say Jeremiah or one of the prophetes He says to them, “But Whom do YOU say Me to be?” Now responding, Simon the Rock said, “YOU ARE the Christos, the Son of the Living Theos!” And (responding) Jesus said, “Supremely blest are you, Simon bar Jonah, because flesh and blood not disclosed this truth to you; conversely, My Father in the Ouranoi.”

Lesson 4 Amplified -- KURIOS

KURIOS -- KURIOI

American: singular: lord, master, sir -- plural: lords, masters, sirs

KURIOS

American: Lord Jesus or Father, Master -- Hebrew Aramaic: Adonay

“The Lord” in the New Testament [New Blood Covenant] means our Lord Jesus the Christos or our Heavenly Father God. “Adonay” in prophesies in the Old Testament also refers to the One who is coming (Jesus) and to Father God.

Almost Greek: [Words in italics are translator’s additions.]

Matthew 4: Then Jesus was led up into the wasteland (by the Hagios Pneuma) to be tested under the diabolou [leader to shame, devil, satyr]. And having fasted for forty days and nights, eventually He was starving. And approaching Him, the tester said, “If You are the Son of Theos, speak in order that these stones be caused to be loaves.” But in response He said, “It gegraptai [has been written]: ‘Not solely on bread shall men live; conversely, upon every rhemati [word] issuing via the mouth of Theos.”

DEUTERONOMY 8.2: And you shall remember the whole of the road over which YHWH your Elohiym has brought you (these forty years in the fields) in order to humble you; to test you; to ascertain what is in your heart, whether or not you will keep His commands. And He humbled you and gave you hunger and caused you to eat manna [“What is it?”], which you hadn’t known before (nor had your ab [fathers] known) in order to cause you to know that not only by food adam [man] lives but adam shall live by the whole of the words going forth from the mouth of YHWH.

[Matthew continued] Jesus said to him, “Furthermore, it gegraptai: ‘You shan’t thoroughly test the Kuriou your Theos.’”

DEUTERONOMY 6.16: Not shall you test YHWH, your Elohiym, as you tested Him in Massah. [“Trial”; also called Meribah, “Strife”; which is located in the desert of Sin {near the settlement of Rephidim} on the lower Sinai Peninsula].

[Matthew continued] Once more the diabolos takes Him into a very lofty mountain and shows Him all the kingdoms of the kosmou [universe, world, cosmos] and their glory and says to Him, “I will give all these to You if (falling down) You proskuneses [worship, as a dog licks his master’s hand] me.” Then Jesus says to him, “Withdraw, Satanna! for it gegraptai: ‘You shall proskuneseis the Kurion your Theos and solely Him shall you serve.’”

DEUTERONOMY 6.13: YHWH your Elohiym shall you fear and Him shall you serve and by His name shall you swear. You shan’t walk behind [follow] other elohiym of the people who are around you for YHWH is a jealous El (your Elohiym in the midst of you), lest red hot the aph [anger] of YHWH (your Elohiym) be against you and He desolate you off from the face of the earth.

Matthew 7:22: [Jesus speaking] Not everyone saying to Me, ‘Kurie! Kurie!’ will enter into the Kingdom of the Ouranon [Heaven]; conversely, only those doing the thelema of My Father in the Ouranois. Many will say to Me (in that one DAY) ‘Kurie! Kurie! didn’t we propheteusamen [before tell, speak under inspiration, prophesy] in Your Name [authority]? and ‘didn’t we eject demons in Your Name? and ‘didn’t we do many dunameis [power works] in Your Name?’ And then is when I will acknowledge to them, ‘Not even at any time did I know you. Go away from Me, illegality workers!’”

Matthew 15: Then is when the grammateis [writers, recorders, scribes, secretaries] and Pharisees (from Jerusalem) approached Jesus, saying, “Why do Your mathetai [learners, pupils, disciples] go contrary to the transmissions [rules] of the elders? for they not wash their hands whenever they eat bread.” But responding, He said to them, “Why do you also go contrary to the commands of Theos? via your transmissions? For Theos commanded saying, ‘Value your father and your mother’ and ‘The one speaking reviling to father or mother, let him end life by death.’ But you say, ‘Whoever says to his father or mother, “I have made a gift of what (in case that) you might benefit emergent from me”’ and not (in no way) values his father or his mother, and in this you invalidate the command of Theos via your transmission. Hypocritai [Deceivers, Hypocrites]! well Isaiah before told (concerning you), saying, ‘This people approaches Me with their mouth and values Me with their lips but their heart is far away from Me. But they unsuccessfully seek to revere Me, teaching (as teachings) the injunctions of men.’”

ISAIAH 29.13 And the Adonay says, “… because this people comes near to Me with its mouth and kabad/kabed [makes heavy, makes influential] Me with its lips, but its heart is removed from Me and using its fear of Me, the command of men is taught.”

Lesson 3 Amplified -- THEOS

THEOS

American singular: Father God -- Hebrew Aramaic singular: El

THEOS

American singular: god -- Hebrew Aramaic singular: el

THEOI

American plural: gods -- Hebrew Aramaic plural: elohiym

THEOI

American plural: The Trinity -- Hebrew Aramaic plural: Elohiym

Name of Father God in American: JEHOVAH or YAHWAY

Name of Father God in Hebrew Aramaic; written: YHWH -- spoken: Yehovah

As you see above, theos and theoi in lower case refer to manmade deity and manmade deities. Theos and El in upper case refer to our Heavenly Father. Theoi and Elohiym in upper case refer to the Holy Trinity -- Father God, the Only Son begotten by the Father (Jesus the Christos), and the Holy Spirit. Americans have incorporated into our language transliterations of the name of Father God used by the Hebrews.

Almost Greek: [Words in italics are translator’s additions.]

1st Thessalonians 4.13: I don’t want you to be ignorant with respect to those sleeping [having passed on] lest you grieve as also the rest do, not having elpis [expectation, hope]. For if we pisteuo [put our faith in] that Jesus died and stood up again, so Theos will also bring with Him [Jesus] those who have been put to sleep via Jesus. For this we say to you in a logos of the Kurios, that we (remaining living until the coming of the Kurios) not may in no way go ahead of those having been put to sleep because the Kurios Himself will descend from the ouranos [sky] in a rallying cry in the phone [sound] of an archaggelos [chief messenger, chief angel] and with a trumpet of Theos. And the dead in the Christos will stand up again first, then the living will be caught up together with them (in the cloudiness) to a meeting of the Kurios in the air. And so, we will always be with the Kurios. So also comfort one another with these logoi [words].

2nd Thessalonians 2: Brothers! we ask you over the coming of our Kurios Jesus the Christos and our gathering together to Him not to waver in the nous [intellect, mind, understanding]; not to be frightened neither via pneuma nor via logos nor via letter (as if from me) as if the Day of the Christos is come. Let not even one person deceive you not in no way because unless the apostasia [defection from the truth] comes first and the man of hamartia [a miss of the mark, goal; offense, sin] is revealed (the son of destruction, he who is opposite to Theos and is exalting himself over everything relating to Theos or object of worship) to sit down in the temple of Theos, as if Theos (showing that he himself is a theos), the Day of the Christos hasn’t come. Don't you remember that I told you these things while I was still with you? Now you know the One holding back his being revealed in His time. For the secret of lawlessness is already active. He is merely holding him back now until it comes into being emergent from the middle. Then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Kurios will destroy by the pneumati [breaths, spirits] of His mouth and katargesei [render him entirely idle or useless] by the manifestation of Himself at His return. For them is the coming down of the energeian [efficiency, energy] of Satan in all dunamis [force, power] of pseudes [false, deceitful, pseudo] semeia [signs] and omens and with all unjust delusions in the lost because they not received the agape [unconditional love] of the truth, whereby they might be sothenai [made safe, saved]. Because of their rejection of the truth, Theos will send to them fraudulent energeian for them to pisteusai [to put their faith in] pseudes [falsehoods, lies] in order that all those not pisteusantes in the truth but having approved injustice, may be condemned.

Galatians 1.3: Charis [Graciousness] and peace to you from Father Theos and from our Kuriou Jesus the Christou (the One having given Himself over our hamartion, however He might tear us out emergent from the present, poerou [hurtful] age down [according] to the thelema of our Theos and Father), Whose is the glory to the ages of the ages. Amen!

Galatians 3: O foolish Galatians! who bewitched you not to be convinced of the truth (to [about] whom Jesus the Christos was previously written; crucified before your very eyes)? Only this do I want to learn from you, did you receive the Hagios Pneuma emergent from working law or of pistis emergent from hearing? Are you so foolish, having begun in the Hagios Pneuma, do you now finish in the flesh? Vainly suffered you so much (if indeed vainly)? Is it emergent from working law or of pistis emergent from hearing that He is fully supplying the Hagios Pneuma to you and active in you in dunameis? Just as Abraham had pistis in Theos and it was credited to him so much as dikaiosunen [equity, justification, rightness]:

GENESIS 15.6 …and he, Abraham, trusted in YHWH and He credited it to him for tasadaqua [dikaiosune].

[Galatians 3 continued] Know then that those emergent from pistis, these are the sons of Abraham. Now foreseeing the Graphe [Scripture, part of Old Testament] that Theos would render just the ethne [races, non-Jews, Gentiles] emergent from pistis, He proclaimed the euaggelion [good news, gospel, evangel] in advance, to Abraham, “...that all ethne will be blest in you.”

GENESIS 12.3 [Adonay {Kurios} speaking] “... and in you shall all the families [tribes] of the earth be blest.”

Lesson 2 Amplified -- THELEMA

THELEMA

American: a determination, a choice, a decision, a decree (active)

 BOULEMA

American: a will, a resolve, an intention (passive)

Most existing English translations of the New Testament [New Blood Covenant] use “will” for both of these Koine Greek words. A boulema of God appears ten times in the Koine Greek New Testament. The thelema of God appears eighty-two times in the Koine Greek New Testament. As above, translator’s distinction between them is “wishing” when the word is boulema and “deciding or decreeing” when the word is thelema. The first Scripture below is one of the strongest comparisons between these two words: When Jesus is praying in Gethsemane [“Oil Press”; an urban garden at the foot of the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem], He prays,

Almost Greek: [Words in italics are translator’s additions.]

Luke 22:42: “Father, if You boulemai, carry away this cup off [from] Me. But not My thelema, conversely, Your thelema be caused to be.”

Matthew 26:39: “My Father! if it is possible, let that cup go away from Me; yet not as I thelo, conversely, as You thelo.

Do you see the distinction? Boulemai is a passive “wishing”, whereas thelemai is active “deciding or decreeing”. Translator is convinced that Father God doesn’t merely boulomai from afar, He thelemai from within us. Further excerpts from Almost Greek follow:

Romans 9.18: Accordingly, then He thelei to whom He has compassion and He thelei to whom He renders stubbornness. Then you will say to me, “Why does He still blame? for who opposes His boulemati?” So then at least, who are you, O man, the one talking back to Theos? The thing molded won’t say to the molder, “Why made you me this way,” will it? Or doesn't a potter have the privilege from the same mass of clay to make one vessel toward timen [value, esteem] and one toward disgrace. What if Theos thelon to display orgen [violent passion, fury, rage, wrath] and to make His dunaton [force, power] known (endured in much forbearance vessels of orges having been thoroughly completed toward destruction) and did so in order that He might display the wealth of His glory upon vessels of compassion, which He prepared in advance for glory (whom He also called; us), not only emergent from Jews; conversely, also emergent from the ethnon [races, non-Jews, Gentiles].

1st Thessalonians 4: Finally, then, Brothers, we request of you and parakaloumen [invite, exhort] you in the Kurios Jesus, even as you received from us how it is necessary to walk and to please Theos in order that you superabound the more. For you know what commands we gave to you via the Kurios Jesus. For this is the thelema of Theos, your purification: for you to abstain from porneia [whoring, incest, non-marital sexual intercourse]; for each one of you knows how to possess his own vessel [body] in hagiasmos [holiness, purity] and time [value, esteem]; not in passion of forbidden desire as the ethnoi not knowing Theos.

1st Thessalonians 5.16: Always rejoice! Continually proseuchesthe [humbly beg God, pray]! Eucharisteite [Gratefully give thanks] in all for this is the thelema of Theos (in the Christos Jesus) to you. Don’t quench the Hagios Pneuma! Don’t despise propheteia! [before tellers, prophets] Test everything; firmly hold the kalos [beautiful, virtuous]; keep back from every form of ponerou [hurtful].

Galatians 1.3: Charis [Graciousness] and peace to you from Father Theos and from our Kuriou Jesus the Christou (the One having given Himself over our hamartion [misses of the mark, goal; offenses, sins], however He might tear us out emergent from the present, poerou [hurtful] age down [according] to the thelema of our Theos and Father), Whose is the glory to the ages of the ages. Amen!

Romans 10: Brothers, truly my heart’s delight and my petition to Theos (over Israel) is toward soterian [rescue, safety, salvation]. For I testify to them that they have zelon [heat: zeal, ardor] to Theos; conversely, not down [according] to complete discernment. For being ignorant of the dikaiosunen [equity, justification, rightness] of Theos and seeking to establish their own dikaiosunen, they not submitted to the dikaiosune of Theos. For the Christos is the goal of The Law (toward dikaiosunen) to everyone pisteuonti [having faith]. For Moses graphei [wrote], “The man (doing dikaiosunen acts emergent from The Laws) shall live by them.”

LEVITICUS 18.5 [YHWH] “My mishpat [thelema] you shall do and My enactments you shall preserve [keep], to walk in them. I AM YHWH! your Elohiym [The Trinity]. You shall preserve My enactments and My mishpat which, if a man shall do them, he shall live by [via] them.”

Romans 12: Accordingly, Brothers, I encourage you via the pity of Theos to present your somata [bodies] a living and hagian [holy, sacred, consecrated] sacrifice (fully acceptable to Theos) which is your reasonable service of worship. Not be conformed to this age; conversely, be transformed by the renovation of your nous [intellect, mind, understanding] into your testing what is the good, fully agreeable and complete thelema of Theos.

Luke 11: And it was caused to be in His being in a certain place proseuchomenon [humbly begging God, praying], as He stopped, one of His matheton [learners, pupils, disciples] said to Him, “Kurie! teach us to proseuchesthai, just as John bar Zacharias taught his mathetas.” Now, He said to them, “Whenever you proseuchesthe, say:

Our Father, the One in the Ouranois! [Heaven], make Your Name hagiastheto! [holy, sacred, consecrated], make Your Kingdom come. Cause Your thelema to be as in Ourano, so also upon the earth. Give us down to day by day our needed bread. And send forth [forgive] us our hamartias, for we ourselves also send forth all indebted to us. And not carry us into testing; conversely, rescue us from the ponerou [hurtful one].”

Lesson 1 Amplified -- PISTIS

PISTIS

American: reliance upon, faith

Hebrew: emuwnah/emunah

Most existing English translations of the New Testament use “believe” in translating this Koine Greek word. Believing, that Jesus is the Christ, the Only-begotten Son of God, isn’t enough for you to be safe or to have salvation; meaning you will enter Heaven when you die.

 New American Standard Bible:

James 2.19: “You believe that there is one God. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder.”

Clearly if the demons believe, our believing isn’t enough. In American and Koine Greek, here is the most often presented verse concerning salvation:

Almost Greek: (Words in italics are translator’s additions.)

John 3:16: For Theos [Father God] so greatly egapesen [unconditionally loved] the kosmos [universe, world, cosmos], so (also) He even gave His Only-begotten Son, in order that anyone pisteuon [having faith] into Him shouldn’t perish, but should have eternal life.

Now to restate for clarification: If you forget or count as worthless everything you have ever done to deserve salvation and only put your faith in Jesus’ sufferings and death on your behalf, as your guarantee of salvation, you are already safe and will be in Heaven after your body dies.

PISTOS

American: trustworthy, faithful

Hebrew: aman

PISTEUO

American: to put one’s reliance upon, to have faith in

Hebrew: awman

American: foster firmness, render faithful

1st Thessalonians 4.13: I don’t want you to be ignorant with respect to those sleeping [having passed on] lest you grieve as also the rest do, not having elpis [expectation, hope]. For if we pisteuo that Jesus died and stood up again, so Theos will also bring with Him [Jesus] those who have been put to sleep via Jesus. For this we say to you in a logos of the Kurios [Lord, Master], that we (remaining living until the coming of the Kurios) not may in no way go ahead of those having been put to sleep because the Kurios Himself will descend from the ouranos [sky] in a rallying cry in the phone [sound] of an archaggelos [chief messenger, chief angel] and with a trumpet of Theos. And the dead in the Christos will stand up again, first, then the living will be caught up together with them (in the cloudiness) to a meeting of the Kurios in the air. And so, we will always be with the Kurios. So also comfort one another with these logoi.

Romans 1.16: For I am not ashamed of the euaggelion [good news, gospel, evangel] of the Christou for it is the dunamis [force, power] of Theos to soterian [rescue, safety, salvation] to the whole population pisteuonti [having faith]; first to the Jew and also to the Greek [everyone else]. For in it, the dikaiosune [justification, rightness] of Theos is uncovered (emergent from pisteos to pistin) just as gegraptai [has been written], “The dikaios shall live by pisteos.

HABAKUK 2.4: “The tsaddiyq [dikaios] shall live by his emunah [pistis].”

Romans 10.8: But what says it? “The rhema [word from God] is near you (in your mouth and in your heart).” That is the rhema of pisteos (which we kerussomen [proclaim, herald]), that if you acknowledge [covenant] in your mouth the Kurion Jesus and pisteuses [have faith] in your heart that Theos awakened Him emergent from dead, you sothese [will be saved]. For with the heart one holds pisteuetai toward dikaiosunen and with the mouth one acknowledges toward soterian. For the Graphe [Scripture, part of Old Testament] says, “Everyone pisteuon upon Him won’t be shamed down,” for there isn’t a distinction for the same Kurios of all of mankind (both of Jew and of Greek); wealth to all of those appealing to Him for “Everyone (whoever invokes the name [authority] of the Kuriou) sothesetai [will be safe; saved].”

Romans 13.11: And do this (knowing the time), that it is already the hour for you to awaken emergent from sleep. For soteria is now nearer to us than when we first episteussamen [had faith]. The night is well along and the day approaches. Accordingly, let us put away the works of shadiness and let us clothe ourselves with the implements of the light. Even as in the day, let us properly walk; not in carousal and intoxication; not in sexual promiscuity or licentiousness; not in quarreling and zelo [heat, jealousy, envy, malice], conversely, put on [clothe yourselves with] the Kurion Jesus the Christon and don’t make provisions into lusts of the flesh.
